JT Miller's reunion with the New York Rangers has gone swimmingly. Despite the fact that the team missed the playoffs, Miller has found a new home in New York after being a mainstay in Vancouver for so long.![J.T. Miller is competing for something, but it's not the Stanley Cup]()
J.T. Miller provided a jolt in the New York Rangers team that was slumping during the majority of the season.
After he arrived, he'd give them a chance at winning more games, and providing leadership where it seemed to be lacking. The team would go 5-3-0 in their first eight games after his departure from Vancouver.
Miller would play 32 games for the Rangers and provide stellar production where it was missing in their top-six. He'd score 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) and be a key piece in the lineup, where players like Alexis Lafreniere and Mika Zibanejad failed to deliver.
When he was asked about how he felt about the whole season after he arrived in New York his answer sounded optimistic despite the team's inability to make the playoffs.
Miller's idea of re-racking the group in the summer and getting them prepped for next season sounds like a statement a leader would make. Something we haven't heard much out of from the alternates in the lineup this year.
It's just unfortunate he's had to inherit a broken team, he's mended them to the best of the efforts but like Artemi Panarin, one man alone cannot hold the weight of the world on his back.
Miller finishes the season with 72 games played, and 70 points (22 goals, 48 assists) scored between the Canucks and Rangers.
Maybe next season we will see the kind of Rangers hockey we're used to with Miller at the helm.
