Salley Carson is not dating Craig Conover, despite reports that the two were spotted dining together in New York City following his split from Paige DeSorbo.
Earlier this month, a Bravo fan page (@BravoBreakingNews) reposted an anonymous tip sent to gossip blogger Deux Moi, claiming Conover and Carson were seen having dinner together at Nobu. JT Thomas, who quit Southern Charm ahead of the Season 10 premiere, further fueled the rumors by commenting, “Makes sense,” under the post. Their meetup came days after Conover’s Watch What Happens Live appearance, during which he opened up about DeSorbo’s shocking decision to end their relationship.
While Conover and Carson are two very eligible single people, the latter promised DECIDER that there is nothing romantic going on between the two of them.
“There’s no romance between me and Craig. We’re just really good friends,” Carson — who joined Southern Charm in Season 10 — said when she stopped by our studio this week. “There were two other people at dinner with us. But we had a great night, and I’m really enjoying getting to know him better.”
Conover’s breakup with DeSorbo has sparked somewhat of a war among their respective castmates. As DeSorbo’s Summer House co-stars have rushed to her defense, Conover’s Southern Charm castmates have been doing the same for him — including Carson, who thinks he’s been handling the split “very well.”
“I think that a lot of people will always have a side to take or an opinion about them, but at the end of the day, they are the only ones that know what really went down between the two of them,” she said. “And I mean, I don’t think Paige is handling it poorly. I don’t think either one of them were.”

Much of the discourse surrounding their breakup has been Conover’s decision to stay silent as DeSorbo was accused of cheating on him. While DeSorbo and her castmates believe he owed it to her to shut down the false rumors, Conover said it was no longer his place as the ex-boyfriend to defend her — something Carson agreed with.
“I obviously have Craig’s back and I don’t think that he should have been obligated to say anything or speak up,” Carson said. “I think that he chose silence and I think that was good of him. He got broken up with and that sucks. And then he feels the pressure from the audience to talk about it. I don’t know, I think it was easier for him to be silent in those moments.”
“He had his heart broken, so I don’t really think they owe anything to each other after that goes down,” she added. “That’s just my opinion.”
New episodes of Southern Charm air on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
