Southern Charm's Jennifer Snowden Faces Crisis as Eight-Year-Old Son Is Hospitalized - lulu

Jennifer Snowden was a friend of the Southern Charm cast between Seasons 2 and 5. She focused on her real estate career since then, cutting ties with the hit reality TV show. And Jenifer opened a successful boutique named after her son James Ascher.

Jennifer’s pride and joy is her son Ascher. She and her husband Lee James have worked hard to ensure Ascher has all the opportunities. He defied all odds by absolutely thriving, despite being born with encephalocele. But the eight-year old had a medical setback recently. And the Southern Charm alum shared the harrowing experience with her social media followers.

Jennifer asked for prayers after her son’s hospitalization

On Thursday, June 12, Jennifer shared a photo of Ascher in a hospital bed to her Instagram Story. The former Bravolebrity captioned the photo, “Monitoring his brain activity. Please pray that he wakes up soon. Thank y’all. I didn’t know where else to turn but to all of you again for prayers & on my knees praying to God.”

In cases of encephalocele, a neural tube defect protrudes through the skull where brain tissue and membranes meet. When Jennifer was 15 weeks pregnant, she had a 4D ultrasound done and the condition was discovered. Despite the expected challenges, she decided to give her baby a chance at the best life she could offer.

“I would talk to my baby [in the womb] every night and tell him, ‘This doesn’t have to be your story. Your story can be rewritten,’” Jennifer shared while on the show The Doctors in 2017.

Ascher had a brain surgery as in infant in 2016. A following surgery in 2021 has ensured the eight-year-old boy would thrive. However, Ascher ended up in the hospital after suffering a seizure that left him temporarily unable to breath on his own.

 

In a happy update, Jennifer revealed that Ascher was being discharged. The former Bravolebrity made sure to thank his medical team, as well as all those friends and fans that offered prayers.

“Ascher is going to be alright from his seizure but when he arrived he was not breathing on his own & had a severe seizure & we don’t know why but he’s ok & back to his self today. I’ll share more later but I just wanted to say thank you to you all,” Jennifer wrote.
