Source Slams Brynn Whitfield’s Portrayal on RHONY, Says She Was ‘Mischaracterized,’ Plus How the Cast Feels About Her Exit

The future of The Real Housewives of New York City is uncertain. Still, what is known is that Brynn Whitfield won’t be returning whenever the series goes back into production. Now, an insider has come to Brynn’s defense against the way the series characterized her. Additionally, there’s a report about what the other ladies think of her not returning.

Brynn took to her Instagram Stories on June 9 to confirm that she had departed the show. She said in the post, “After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV for now.” Brynn went on to say that her dating app, Hoppy, had become quite a success, and she implied that she’d be devoting more of her time to that endeavor as she’s their chief marketing officer.

Amid Brynn’s exit from RHONY, an insider has spoken to OK! Magazine to dispel some of the negative opinions held about her. They said, “Regardless of how the show attempted to portray Brynn, she was one of the sweetest people I ever worked with. She was kind and gracious and completely real.”

The person also stated that there was “never anything fake” about Brynn. This comes after her co-stars and some fans accused her of being inauthentic. The insider then said, “I never got the impression she wasn’t being completely sincere with me.” They also claimed that the show “has a way of mischaracterizing people.”

The insider added, “I can safely say from personally knowing her, she was definitely not the person they attempted to make her out to be. That being said, she certainly wasn’t above the fray in terms of stirring the pot. She liked to do that and knew it came with being on Housewives — and, frankly, she was good at it. Regardless, she will have a bright future without the show.”

In stark contrast, a separate insider spoke to Page Six about how the rest of the RHONY cast feels about Brynn leaving. They said, “The cast has largely distanced themselves from Brynn, and it was a relief for all of the ladies to hear that she will not be returning.”

The statement continued, “Whether or not any of the girls get to hang on to their apples, they’re elated that Brynn has dropped hers. Honestly, they’d be scared to film with her again after the mess she made last season.”

Regarding the future of the show, Andy Cohen has said they are currently casting. This came after reports surfaced that Bravo was canceling the series.
