“Hysterical” Sonja Morgan was the straw that stirs the drink at Tucci when she refused to pay her $1,000 bill on Saturday and got blacklisted.
A source told Page Six the Real Housewives of New York alum shouted, “I’m a celebrity” when she learned he meal wasn’t being comped.
Sonja paid the Money by Monday:
The tabloid reported, “She called owner Max Tucci after being handed a $1,000 check demanding a comp.” One of the reasons she claimed she couldn’t pay is “She’s a single mother” … to 24-year-old Quincy Adams Morgan.
Sonja paid the bill, including a tip, on Monday, but she’s no longer welcome at the popular NoHo spot. Page Six was told she has been given free meals by the restaurant in the past. She had mistakenly assumed that that would be the case again.
For the record, Sonja requested a table for three, but arrived with a party of five … on a busy night. It was alleged the group stopped by for dinner and to pregame before hitting up her cousin Jack Morgan’s 30th birthday celebration at Boom Boom.
“Things went downhill when the server delivered a bill for almost $1,000,” the onlooker shared.
But she’s in the blue book!
Sonja declared, “I don’t pay. People pay me [to go to their restaurants].”
“She was absolutely entitled and caused a scene about not paying,” alleged the source. After she spoke to Tucci, it became clear that he had no intention of paying her tab. Sonja confirmed to Page Six, “There was a clear miscommunication.”
“I believed I was dining in exchange for a promotional post. I made that known to staff.” A fed-up Tucci defended his staff. Sonja is now blacklisted from Tucci. “It’s not about me. Don’t do that to my staff.”
“The cost of everything is so expensive right now [for restaurants], and she’s just taking advantage. … There was no arrangement for her to have a comped dinner. She just wanted free food and service.”
