The Real Housewives of Orange County aired Part 1 of the three-part reunion special on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The housewives joined host, Andy Cohen to reflect on their interpersonal relationships and address unresolved conflicts. However, the discussions often turned into heated confrontations and arguments without a solution.
One of season 18's highlights was the fallout between former best friends, Shannon and Tama. Throughout the season, Tamra demeaned Shannon for being involved in a DUI case, calling her "drunk" and blaming her for ruining her relationship with her ex-partner, John Janssen. When Andy raised the dispute at the reunion, Shannon announced she had ended her friendship with Tamra and moved on.
At that point, Emily intervened, trying to mediate their conflict. She urged Tamra to apologize and encouraged Shannon to accept it, recalling how Gina had previously accepted Shannon's apology. The Real Housewives of Orange County fans took to X to criticize Emily for interjecting herself into someone else's argument.
They also called her out for trying to mediate a dispute that did not involve her.
"Emily is so wrong for making Shannon accept Tamra’s apology when Tamra’s apology included “I’m sorry I was mad because you were drinking all the time” Shannon’s apology to Gina didn’t include attempting to justify the actions she was apologizing for!! HUGE difference," a fan wrote.
"Emily needs to stop getting in the middle of Shannon and Tamra," another fan commented.
"Emily you can stfu! They weren’t the friends that her and Tamra were," a netizen tweeted.
Many The Real Housewives of Orange County fans disapproved of Emily's attempts to reconcile Shannon's relationship with Tamra.
"Emily stop trying to be the mediator…between Shannon and Tamra. Shannon has said she’s good without Tamra’s friendship," a user reacted.
"Emily stfu, Shannon owes nothing to Tamra," a person commented.
"Bravo really needs to can Emily. It’s so obvious that she’s just trying to make up for not contributing anything all season. She’s doing everything she can to save her job at this reunion," another fan wrote.

Some The Real Housewives of Orange County fans called out Emily for comparing Shannon's apology to Gina with Tamra's.
"NO! Emily don’t compare the apology between Shannon and Gina, to Tamra’s fake but, but, but “apology”," a person reacted.
