Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman-Duttine) worst nightmares have been realised in Coronation Street as her ‘sex tape’ has been spread around Weatherfield.

But there’s a catch – it isn’t her at all.

She’s had a rough old week has our Abi, after discovering that a production company had made a documentary series following her son’s killer Corey Brent’s footballing success behind bars.

Corey murdered Seb and left Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) severely injured, after brutally attacking them in a hate crime.

With the documentary shining a light on Corey’s new venture as captain of the prison football team, Abi was horrified to hear a radio presenter branding him a ‘hero’.

Furious, Abi and Nina stormed into the producer’s office and demanded it be taken down, but it was too late as it had been delivered to the broadcaster weeks before.

Adamant to make a change, Nina contacted Suki Waters (Laura Littlewood) from the Weatherfield Gazette, who arranged for Abi to speak candidly about her son’s death in a video interview.

In tonight’s (22nd May) episode, they were glad to see it had prompted readers to launch their own petition to have the series removed.

Elsewhere, Abi’s old drug dealer Dean Turnbull (Anthony Crank) turned up at the garage and demanded money from her. Abi was quick to shut him down, she threatened him not to show his face and sent him on his way.

However, later in the day, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) opened up the work email address to see someone had forwarded a sex tape, featuring Abi. To make matters worse, it then landed in the comments section of the Gazette article.

She was understandably horrified to see the video, having no recollection of it ever being made and assuming that it was recorded when she was high on heroin.

Husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) couldn’t believe that more secrets from her past were coming out of the woodwork, but she swore that she was going to get to the bottom of who was responsible.

Convinced that Dean had used it as a tactic to get his money, she called him up and agreed to his demands – and was overheard by Cassie.

Upcoming scenes will reveal that the video is actually part of a cruel deepfake attack.

A deepfake is a video or a picture that has been digitally altered or enhanced to show something that didn’t actually happen.

Is Dean behind the video?
