It might take a little more than some southern charm to make a living in Charleston, South Carolina … just ask Shep Rose.
It’s no secret that the perpetual socialite on Southern Charm comes from a prominent southern family, but that doesn’t stop him from traveling the world while also taking part in several fun projects. An alum of the University of Georgia and its entrepreneurial program, he also attended the Vanderbilt University School of Management, and has since put his business skills to work in different arenas. So what does Shep Rose do for a living today?
What does Shep Rose do for a living?
Shep, a one-time real estate agent, has a stake in several Charleston-area restaurants and bars, including The Commodore, and once co-owned former sports bar and bowling center The Alley Charleston, as well as the now-closed Palace Hotel. He also has his own clothing line, Shep Gear, featuring a collection of coastal-themed tees, hats, dog collars, koozies, and stickers.
In addition to appearing on Southern Charm, he also once had his own dating show on Bravo, RelationShep.
It’s always fun to look back at all Shep’s accomplished over 10 seasons of Southern Charm — and in fact, at one point, he was considering working with Cameran Eubanks in real estate, as seen on Season 3, Episode 3. The conversation took place while both were out to eat with Danni Baird. You can watch that video clip, above.
Full transcript below:
Did Shep Rose work for Cameran Eubanks?
Cameran: Guess what I am probably stupidly doing?
Danni: Oh, geez. Give it to me.
Cameran: You know, Shep had his real estate license a long time ago. He’s going to reactivate it and be my assistant-slash-gofer that I give my overflow to.
Danni: Really? Because he’s going to make you rich.
Cameran: I think he thinks I’m going to make him rich.
Shep: I’m hoping that, yes.
Cameran: We might get a billboard.
Shep (to Cameran): It should be me as half man, half horse, and you riding and whipping the horse.
The three of them laughed as Shep went in for a high-five.
Cameran (in her confessional): I don’t know. Maybe this is not a good idea after all.
Danni: Oh my god.
Cameran: God, this is the best fried chicken in the world.
Shep: Do you think this is good for you? Who cares.
Cameran: Y.O.L.O. [You Only Live Once].
