It was just hours after the Dallas Cowboys were dealt an embarrassing defeat by the Houston Texans at home, Trevon Diggs and CeeDee Lamb were at a club shooting a music video. That did not sit well with NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.
Those two blowouts showed the football world how bad the rest of the Dallas Cowboys are once Dak Prescott was injured. It cast a doubt on the credibility of the players, as they could not rise up to the occasion and at least put up a fight.
That is when the clip came out, showing CeeDee Lamb mouthing the lyrics vibing along with Trevon Diggs. The cameras and bright lights suggested it was pre planned. With many people and money invested, they chose not to cancel the event. However, Sharpe felt differently.
That’s why your Cowboys suck. Because two of your best players, this is what they doing. That shows you how much the game of football means to them. Everybody talks about winning, but do you take the steps in order to win? You got you’re a** kicked, I would have left the stadium with a bag over my head, after I got beat like that. And you do this? It’s disrespectful.

In that long rant on Nightcap, the three-time Super Bowl champion called out Jerry Jones too. He feels that because the owner runs his mouth at every instance, his players become empowered to do the same. Shannon Sharpe feels they have been running their mouths instead of winning football games.

The point Shannon Sharpe made about Jerry Jones was a shot at the leadership the Dallas Cowboys have. But he was not particularly pointing out the leadership problems at the top. Team leaders can set the tone on how their teammates behave. That is what he went on to say next on the same episode of Nightcap.
You ain’t got no leadership. That’s your number one problem, who’s the leader? Is it Dak, is it Micah, is it Diggs, is it CeeDee? They got no leaders. They are devoid of leadership from top to bottom.
The Hall of Famer feels the lack of leadership is so evident that these players do what they feel like. Be it talking what they want on podcasts or doing videos like this on the same day they lose a game. The ESPN analyst did mention that he would not have had a problem if they did this on their off day.
But to schedule it after a game means they did it with an intent to develop their own brand. A brand that only matters if they play well and win games. Sharpe feels if the Dallas Cowboys are to win football games, their players need to show that passion.
