Shannon Sharpe calls out Micah Parsons’ ‘immaturity’ in pushing his HC under the bus amidst Cowboys’ messy season

Shannon Sharpe, former Denver Broncos’ tight end, lambasted Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons following the latter’s criticism of head coach Mike McCarthy. The linebacker recently broke his two-week silence as he apologized for reportedly throwing McCarthy under the bus after a game loss.

Dallas Cowboys are 3-7 to the season, in stark contrast to what Jerry Jones anticipated ahead of the league opener. After a first-week win, the Cowboys have found themselves on pace to set a new record for the worst point differential at home. They have lost all home games, the last being Week 11 against the Houston Texans.

Speaking on the ‘Nightcap Show,’ Shannon Sharpe launched a tirade at Micah Parsons. Sharpe noted that they cannot take back the deeds done and words spoken – indicating that he believes there is a limit to excuses. The former TE established that he believes Micah Parsons is not young, and added that Parsons can’t be excused on account of his age considering he cashes a huge lump of money every week.

The linebacker received flak for his words about head coach Mike McCarthy. Parsons expressed that McCarthy can exit the franchise, noting that he doesn’t care about the coach at all. He also undermined McCarthy’s experience and acknowledged that he plays for people like Zack Martin who are probably at the end years of their career. Parsons although admitted his mistake and apologized and blamed the media for taking things out of context.

Later, McCarthy had closed the lid on the boiling hot water stating that the duo had cleared the air. The linebacker recently spoke out regarding the incident admitting anger and frustration fueled his outburst against McCarthy.

Johnson who played 11 seasons in the league noted that being a Cowboys player comes with increased media attention. He issued a warning to all the Cowboys players, especially the ones who have podcasts, to be careful of what they say.

The Dallas Cowboys are in one of their toughest seasons in recent history. The poor record is one of the huge issues that drives around a sack of fodder for the media to pick. In the recent weeks, there has been multiple reports of McCarthy losing the locker room’s support following Parsons’ admission. Last week also capped off another controversy when players CeeDee Lamb and cornerback Trevon Diggs were spotted shooting a music video following the humiliating loss at the hands of the Texans.
