Peacock's extended version of Part 1 of the RHOSLC Season 5 reunion shows there was even more to Bronwyn Newport and Lisa Barlow's heated argument.
When The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion kicked off with Part 1 on January 22, Lisa Barlow and Bronwyn Newport wasted no time hashing out their issues. As it turns out, the heated conversations about their fractured friendship continued behind the scenes.
During Peacock's extended and uncensored version of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion, which began steaming on January 23, fans saw a glimpse of the women's mindsets as they took a break from filming. After exiting the soundstage, both Lisa and Bronwyn had something to say about each other in their respective dressing rooms.
"You know, I think it's frustrating ... " said Lisa before bursting into tears. "I'm tired of the hamster wheel. ... Like, I feel like I was trying to be the best friend to Bronwyn this whole year. And I watch and I see and I'm like, 'You had a consummate issue with me. And I was thinking we were good."
Meanwhile, in her own dressing room, Bronwyn vented about the situation to her husband, Todd Bradley. "I feel like I've really said, 'I'm going to start with some accountability. I'm going to take responsibility for this.' We got right into the Lisa and Gwen of it," Bronwyn explained, referring to the ongoing drama surrounding Lisa's connection to Bronwyn's daughter's paternal grandparents.
"We're not friends," she concluded. "We're never going to be friends."
Why were Bronwyn Newport and Lisa Barlow arguing at the reunion?
Lisa and Bronwyn attempted to hash out a slew of issues during Part 1 of the reunion.
First, Lisa took issue with Bronwyn telling Angie Katsanevas that someone had sent her a "snarky message" claiming Lisa's car had been repossessed, which Lisa denied.
Then, another back-and-forth ensued after Bronwyn took a moment to clear something up about the $4,000,000 necklace Todd appeared to buy for her during Episode 9.
"I went to their vault and picked out a few pieces and they brought stuff to me," she said. "I ended up with a pair of hoop earrings and then they made me a smaller version of that necklace that I tried on that day."
Lisa then chimed in with a claim that, according to Bronwyn's jeweler, she and Todd "didn't buy" the jewelry and that the hoops were returned. Bronwyn denied this, noting she would go home and post her jewelry.
The drama intensified when Andy brought up Lisa's friendship with Gwen's paternal grandparents. As Bronwyn stated in the RHOSLC After Show video above, "Gwen has never met them...and they've never expressed an interest." However, Lisa shared a different perspective in the same clip, which deeply upset Bronwyn.
"I felt like I was confiding these big things in you," Bronwyn said through tears during the reunion episode. "I was letting you in in such a huge way, with my daughter and this story, and your responses did feel like you were defending them."
Bronwyn then confirmed she was referring to Lisa's After Show comments, which you can watch in the video.
The argument was reignited when Todd and John Barlow joined the group on stage, and it appears viewers will see the result of that during Part 2.
