Scheana Shay spoke of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright on the red carpet at Thursday’s premiere party of The Valley season two, making it clear she is “Team Brittany.”
While opening up about her involvement in season two, reacting to Lady Gaga, 39, and Seth Rogen, 42, being fans, and sharing how often she speaks to Lisa Vanderpump, 64, the 39-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum commented on the new, sober Jax, 45, looked back on her time on The Masked Singer, and shared her thoughts on the Pump Rules reboot.
“[I’m] just being there for her in any way she [needs] … [I’m] always and forever Team Brittany. That will never change,” Scheana told Access Hollywood on April 10.
As for her relationship with Jax, Scheana said they “talk” and are “cordial” but “not close.”
Meanwhile, her husband, Brock Davies, described their friendship as a “work in progress.”
Then, when asked about Jax turning over a new leaf and trying to change his life, Scheana offered a suspicious glare as she said, “I hope so.”
Brock was more blunt, asking, “How many leaves does this guy have to turn?”
“Hopefully, with his new attempt at this, this might set him on the straight and narrow. Let’s see a new Jax,” he added.
Although Scheana didn’t seem too convinced that Jax was a new man, she said she hoped he was “for Brittany’s sake and for [their son] Cruz’s best interest.”
“I truly hope so and I wish him the best. I really do. Being sober for the first time ever … but Team Brittany,” she noted.
As for what fans can expect from season two, Scheana teased “a lot of craziness.”
“It’s the same drama that we had on Vanderpump Rules, except now we’re all parents, some in the 40s. So it’s a lot of fun. It’s chaotic, but it’s entertaining, and at the end of the day, most of us all love each other in the friend group.”
According to Scheana, she’s friends with almost everyone, but goes “get stuck in between some messy things that are happening,” as do Brock and Brittany.
“They are so authentically themselves that it could get them in trouble sometimes, but I feel like that’s what’s amazing for reality TV, is when you just are real and you may get some hate for it, but you’re just being authentically yourself,” she shared.
Still, Brock said filming The Valley season two was a “cake walk.”
“I just rock out and live my best life,” he explained. “And then the fact that everyone’s over here now, it’s fun. We’re around our family. We’re around the kids. They get involved. So it’s a little less stressful trying to go out to restaurants, and we just hang out at each other’s houses a lot more.”
Also during the interview, Scheana reacted to Lady Gaga and Seth coming out as fans of Pump Rules, and of hers.
“Insane. I’ve died twice this month and come back,” she laughed.
She then shared that one of Seth’s best friends, whom she met at a party, attempted to FaceTime Seth and his wife at the event.
“They didn’t answer. I’m like, ‘Come find me later,’” Scheana revealed. “I’m thinking maybe he will [reach out] soon.”
During another interview, with Extra TV, Scheana offered an update on her relationship with Lisa, saying, “Not often,” when asked how much they speak, and looked back on her Masked Singer appearance.
“I got my tattoo for bat … it’s a reminder that I can do crazy things … it was exposure therapy for me on level 100. It was something I never thought I would do. It was uncomfortable. It was scary. But I did it,” she declared. “And this tattoo is just a reminder that I can do scary things, that I can go outside of my comfort zone. And I want to raise my daughter in a way of trying new things and not doing things because she’s afraid.”
Although Scheana was sent home on night one, she described the show as an “amazing experience” and revealed her daughter, Summer Moon, 3, “loved it.”
Moving onto the Pump Rules reboot, Scheana teased that she would “potentially” make a cameo and expressed excitement for the new cast.
“I’m excited for them to get their opportunity, to live their authentic lives, and I can’t wait to watch,” she confirmed.
She then offered the cast some advice: “To be their authentic selves, to not hold back, to not worry about what people online are going to say because at the end of the day, if you’re being authentic to you, people can say whatever they want. It doesn’t matter because you can sleep with yourself knowing, I did something that was authentic to me.”
The Valley season two premieres Tuesday, April 15, at 9/8c on Bravo.
