Following Vanderpump Rules' reboot, former star Scheana Shay revealed her next major career move: Her first self-written memoir titled My Good Side, which will reveal a new side of the reality star.
Scheana Shay is raising a glass to her latest career move.
The Vanderpump Rules alum announced she recently completed her very first self-written memoir, titled My Good Side, amid the Bravo series' complete re-casting ahead of season 12.
"I wrote a book!" the reality star turned author shared on Instagram Jan. 24 along with a preview of the book's cover. "As you all know, one chapter of my life has come to an end, and I’m ready to turn the page and tell my own story. You’ve seen one side of me on reality TV, another side through filtered social media content, but MY GOOD SIDE isn’t a highlight reel. It digs deep into the core of who I am—the good, the bad, the messy, along with the missteps and lessons learned along the way."
The 39-year-old—who is mom to 3-year-old daughter Summer Moon with husband Brock Davies—also promised the book will include stories that might be more shocking than the drama they've witnessed on TV over the last decade.
"The process of writing this book has been both cathartic and healing, and I surprised even myself with the stories that bled out onto these pages…details of my life that I’ve never shared, not even with some of my most inner circle," Scheana's caption continued. "Until now. The rose-colored glasses are off, and this is me at my most authentic. To all of you who have been right there with me every step of the way, and even to those who haven’t, I can’t wait to show you every side of me."
During the latest episode of her Scheananigans podcast Jan. 24, the "Good As Gold" singer revealed the "raw, vulnerable" passion project has been a long time coming.
"This is something I've literally wanted to do my entire life—like, it has always been a dream of mine," Scheana told fans. "I loved English class and journalism and all of that in school. I used to write for the school newspaper, and I was like, one day, I'm going to write a book."
But the former SUR-ver isn't exactly looking forward to her costars reading the tell-all.
"I do talk about everyone and everything," she admitted. "And it's really just all sides of me. The good, the bad, things that you've seen on the show with more explanation. And it's not me trying to be like, 'I want everyone to love me after this book.' I would like to be more understood."
My Good Side is on stands July 22 and is available for preorder now wherever books are sold.
