Southern Charm newbie Ryan Albert accused JT Thomas of trying to present “blackmail” against certain castmates. He claimed JT obtained the material from a “stalker” who some co-stars have a “restraining order against.”
In a recent episode, JT hosted an afterparty where he surprised Taylor Ann Green with an allegation that her boyfriend, Gaston Rojas, cheated in a past relationship. JT claimed he was trying to protect Taylor, though the cast, including Ryan, quickly turned on him. They slammed the 38-year-old for getting involved. In response, JT seemingly shaded Ryan as inarticulate.
In a recent Instagram post, Ryan addressed what allegedly was edited out of the episode.
“Our reactions in tonight’s episode stemmed from [JT] attempting to present, on his television, blackmail against some of the cast – material he had obtained from a stalker who some cast members have a restraining order against,” said Ryan, via @bestofbravo on Instagram.
“Nobody was trying to push him out of the group,” Ryan added. “Everyone in my car that night expressed that they were going there to hear him out and make amends.”
He eventually called out JT’s insult.
“There is a difference between being a truth-teller and being malicious toward others with the intent of humiliating them to have a moment for yourself,” he went on. “You can take cheap shots at me all day, but I will always stand up for my friends.”

Earlier in the season, Whitney Sudler-Smith defended JT against Craig Conover’s accusation that he called Patricia Altschul a “b**ch.”
“I don’t think JT is the kind of person who would call a woman a b**ch, and throughout the years, Craig has had a tenuous relationship with reality and the truth,” said Whitney at the time.
The scene switched to a flashback of Craig admitting in a past season, “I can convince a lot of people of anything I want to convince them of. I’m a great liar.”
As the episodes aired, Patricia also defended JT on Instagram.
“When [the season] was filmed, I still believed that JT had called me the b-word,” she said. “Now, after seeing the latest episodes, I don’t think he did.”
New episodes of Southern Charm air on Thursday nights on Bravo.
