Bill Simmons has told Robert Kraft that he should sell the New England Patriots after their debacle on the final day of the regular season which saw them throw away the number one pick in the draft.
The Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills with rookie quarterback Joe Milton coming in for Drake Maye and surprisingly putting in an incredible performance, leading them to a shock upset.
And fans would have been delighted to see their team perform so well against Super Bowl contenders, the win was an extremely unbeneficial one for them - with it taking their record to 4-13 for the season and pushing them out of the number one draft position in the 2025 class and seeing them fall all the way to the fourth pick.
The Patriots are clearly not in need of a quarterback in the draft with both Maye and Milton shining, the organization could have legitimately missed out on acquiring a further first-round and potentially even a second-round pick just by winning a needless game, with team's sure to be interested in trading up to select one of the two quarterbacks (Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward) in the class.
What's more, New England could also miss out on the top tackle prospect in either Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks Jr, as well as Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, because of the win.
Simmons had, of course, wanted to see the team lose the game to ensure that they would receive the top overall pick, and had fumed when he learned that Kraft had no say in the decision on the final game of the year. After sharing a post that stated this, he tweeted: "If this is actually true, Kraft should sell the team."

Just moments after the Patriots won the game, it was announced that head coach Jerod Mayo would be fired after their dismal season - another decision that has been criticized by some.
While Simmons is not a part of those group of Patriots fans to be angered by the decision, long stating that he feels that the organization needed to move on at the end of the year, he's bemoaned the team's approach to the final day of the year.
He said: "When I think of the dark, dumb days in the history of the team since I became a fan when I was like 4 years old, this has to be in the top 8 or 9. It's a complete organizational collapse, disgrace, it made no sense; it made no sense as it was happening."
The Patriots are now favorited to hire former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, the NFL's Coach of the Year in 2021.
