RHOP Alum Candiace Bassett Slams Diddy as a “Narcissist” Over His Apology Video After Assault on Ex Cassie, Plus Peter Thomas Claims Diddy is "Just a Pawn" as Fans React

The world’s collective opinion of mogul Sean Diddy Combs changed late last year when Cassie Ventura launched a bombshell lawsuit. In it, the singer and former girlfriend of Diddy exposed his years of abuse, manipulation, and other horrendous acts. Now, a disturbing video has been released from 2016 that shows him abusing Cassie. He has since released an apology video, and RHOP alum Candiace Dillard Bassett and Peter Thomas are responding.

Since the first lawsuit, which Diddy settled allegedly for tens of millions of dollars, celebrities have given their opinions on the matterUnfortunately, Peter even seemingly supported the disgraced mogul when the news first broke. However, now that people have seen even a snippet of how Cassie was treatedthere’s no denying the truth. Diddy has since released an apology video, but the world isn’t buying it.

Candiace is one of the celebrities who has responded to the appalling video of Diddy assaulting Cassie, which was released by CNN, and his subsequent apology. She recently took to X to discuss her feelings on domestic abuse despite never having experienced it. She writes on the platform, “I’ve never had to experience domestic abuse, and it feels almost ignorant to say in this moment, but how strong are you all. How incredibly resilient. I just feel…You don’t know until you know. I didn’t really know. And just, wow.”

Candiace then goes on to say that she was triggered by the apology video that Diddy decided to release after CNN obtained the footage from 2016 of him abusing Cassie in a hotel hallway.

She goes on to say that she can only imagine how survivors of domestic violence felt watching him not take accountability for his actions.

Peter, who used to be married to RHOA star Cynthia Bailey, took to Instagram to react to the apology video. However, his words left much to be desired. He calls what Diddy did wrong, but he seems to spend more time calling the situation a setup and saying how Diddy can move on from the situation.

Peter starts by saying, “Good morning, social media. This is a reaction to what Puff put out this morning. First, I’m going to say, my brother, you had no choice but to do what you did [the apology video.] That’s how far backed up you are right now.”

He goes on, “But I’m not gonna be like everyone else because we’re living in a time of fear. Where we fear to do so much things because we don’t have faith in the lord Almighty.”

Peter then says he is not one of those people who has fear because of his faith in God. Then he says, “Let’s start over. You had no choice but to put that video out, but I’m glad you put that video out because accountability is everything.”

He then gives Diddy advice and says he needs to use his resources to start “all kind of programs to make sure that what you did, what we saw you did. . . s**t mother******, I’m not perfect, but I’ve never done anything that disgusting, but I’ve done a lot of s**t. You have a lot of resources. Put it to good use.”

Peter continues, “We know why all of this is happening, and you were just a pawn.” He then says there was “collective s**t that was setting you up to use s**t against you, and that’s just life. But here we are, make it right.”

People in the comments were not pleased with Peter’s statements. Yes, he admits that Diddy was wrong, but he also doesn’t seem to fully blame him. He has since limited comments on the post.

This is an extremely triggering situation for many people, and Peter’s comments didn’t seem to help. However, this probably won’t be the end, as Diddy has several other alleged victims, some of whom aren’t even alive.
