RHONY's Ubah Hassan on Brynn's "False Narrative" Against Her, Why Reconciling Would Be a "Betrayal," and Brynn's Plan to Target Her Business, Plus Erin's "Careless" Claims About Cancer Comment and Her Deep Regret

Ubah Hassan reflected on Brynn Whitfield‘s false narrative against her and why they’ll never reconcile after their dramatic feud on The Real Housewives of New York City season 15 finale.

While also addressing her drama with Erin Lichy, 37, and Racquel Chevremont, 53, the 41-year-old model accused Brynn, 39, of creating a false narrative against her as she explained why they will never be friends, admitted to having a season 15 regret, and shared how Brynn planned to go after her business on-camera.

“It’s hard to see opinions that create a false narrative of who you are,” Ubah stated amid a January 29 interview with Glamour. “I know I didn’t do anyone wrong.”

During the RHONY finale episode earlier this month, Ubah was accused of using Brynn’s past experience with sexual assault against her by suggesting she sleeps with men for work. However, according to Ubah, she knew nothing of Brynn’s past and believes her co-star was simply determined to paint her as a villain.

“It felt like she was determined to create a false narrative about me. Looking back, I see the pattern: She’d push me until I reacted then later come to me in tears, saying how much she loves me, how kind I am, and how much the show needs me,” Ubah revealed.

After learning from her co-stars that Brynn had claimed she’d been insensitive about her past trauma, Ubah confronted Brynn.

“Brynn said nothing—she just stared at me with a cold, blank look. I kept asking her, but she stayed silent. I went back in my brain like a computer just to cover everything. That was never discussed,” Ubah insisted, admitting that she was “overwhelmed with anger” as she demanded answers.

“I couldn’t breathe. I never want anyone to experience what I’ve experienced—trying to defend my character in the middle of such chaos,” she recalled. “I went to my room, shaking, and I started vomiting. I was in total distress.”

Although Ubah attempted to apologize to Brynn for the misunderstanding, she now believes Brynn never wanted anything from her.

“Now that I’ve watched the show, I believe she didn’t want my apology; she had already told the girls about her sexual assault and claimed I knew about it. It suited her story to paint me as the villain,” Ubah explained.

In the months since filming wrapped, Ubah and Brynn have only seen each other during filming on the opening credits and at the reunion.

“I will not hang out with Brynn one-on-one ever again,” Ubah confirmed. “I’ve spent years protecting the little girl inside me, and rebuilding this friendship would feel like a betrayal.”

Ubah then shared that Brynn bought her hot sauce, Ubah Hot, when they met, claiming she wanted to “support” her, and then later called and told her she was going to give it a bad review for “airtime.”

“[She said], ‘I think I’m going to talk about Ubah Hot on the show, and I’m going to give a bad review so you can get airtime,'” Ubah disclosed. “[And] I said, ‘Let me tell you something: Do not touch my product. I’m a woman who worked her a** off to be where I am. This product has won awards. Don’t you dare.’ I believe she has been producing since day one.”

While Ubah stands firm in not knowing about Brynn’s past sexual assault, she did express regret about one of the things she said to her co-star.

“I deeply regret saying, ‘Maybe you slept with someone to get this job,’ and I am truly sorry for that,” she stated. “It felt like Brynn was pushing all of us to perform, especially me. I said that out of frustration. I told her that I got this job because of who I am—I don’t have to fake storylines or create drama.”

Moving on to the cancer comment that upset Erin, Ubah admitted she was “hurt” by their spat.

“My mother was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive forms of leukemia. The doctor told us on a Saturday that she had only 48 to 72 hours to live … [and] by Monday night, we lost her. It was a devastating loss that has shaped who I am,” she revealed. “That’s why it hurt so deeply to hear Erin say in her confessional that I was tone-deaf for mentioning cancer. Erin, who I love and have been there for, knows that I’ve lost both my parents to cancer.”

“Her words felt careless and dismissive of my feelings, and they truly cut to my core,” Ubah added.

Ubah also looked back on her drama with Racquel, who suggested she was trash-talking Puerto Rico amid their girls’ trip.

“I explained to Racquel that I wasn’t talking about the ocean—I was talking about the stream of water we had to cross to get to where we were sitting. I warned Sai not to step in because she had a cut and I didn’t want her to get an infection. Racquel heard my explanation, but it wasn’t shown,” Ubah revealed. “For her to say she was hurt by my comment in her confessionals and interviews not only upsets me, but it’s confusing to the audience.”

Also during the interview, Ubah said that despite the intense drama she faced amid season 15, she went into the reunion with “immense gratitude, especially for these brave women who stood together in truth.”

“I deeply appreciate Bravo for breaking the fourth wall, allowing more of that truth to shine through,” she shared. “Without this transparency, my integrity might have continued to be unfairly questioned. But today I stand in clarity, strength, and peace. My heart is full, and I am moving forward with love—free from any shadow that was never mine to carry.”

The Real Housewives of New York City season 15 reunion continues with part two on Tuesday, February 4, at 9/8c on Bravo.
