RHONY and RHONJ’s Future in Doubt After Bravo Renewal Announcements — Exclusive Details

We’re still shaking (physically shaking) from all of the programming updates Bravo just unloaded on us. They confirmed a handful of brand-new shows streaming to the network, along with renewal announcements for some of our favorite shows. It’s exciting, but now, we need to take a second to focus on who was missing from the lineup. Curiously absent from the renewal announcements were The Real Housewives of New York and The Real Housewives of New Jersey. The omission of the once-beloved shows has fans concerned about what’s next. Has Bravo decided to cancel them?

In Bravo’s big announcement, they revealed new series like The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, a Shahs of Sunset reboot, and even a Real Housewives edition of Wife Swap. On top of that, nearly every other Housewives city got picked up for new seasons, but there was no mention of RHONY or RHONJ.

Of course, the status of Real Housewives of New Jersey has remained unclear for months. After the dramatic conclusion of Season 14, the network confirmed that the ladies would stay on pause while they decided their future. Apparently, that’s still the case.

Meanwhile, the RHONY reboot has spent two seasons struggling to get off the ground. When Season 15’s pregnancy prank left viewers unsettled, the ratings struggled. And just like New Jersey, the producers have been putting out their feelers for new cast members.

With all of that in mind, it might seem like Bravo might be quietly dropping two of its longest-running shows. However, an insider close to production told Reality Tea that’s not necessarily the case. They confirmed to us that “nothing official has been decided yet for RHONY or RHONJ.”

That means the door is still open for a return to New York and New Jersey, but don’t hold your breath for any news anytime soon. For now, the network seems focused on other shows. Perhaps the Rhode Island Housewives can fill the East Coast void.

The Real Housewives of New York and The Real Housewives of New Jersey are streaming on Peacock.
