Teresa Giudice was sued after allegedly trashing a rental home in New Jersey.
According to a new report, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is being accused of causing thousands of dollars of damages and breaching her contract after renting the Ortley Beach vacation home of Peter and Donna Ruffini in July of this year.
In small claims court, the couple filed a complaint on August 27, 2018, suggesting the reality star and mother of four had damaged their home to the tune of $3,000 and breached their contract. In the complaint, which was obtained by Radar Online, it was noted that Teresa had agreed to “no pets and no smoking on premises” during her stay at the home.
Teresa was reportedly vacationing with her four daughters and a few girlfriends from July 21 to July 28.
“There was a dog in the house for more than a week and house smelled of smoke,” the complaint read. “On first deck there was a plastic cup left with an empty packet of cigarettes, along with butts spread all over the front parking area.”
The complaint also suggested hardwood floors were scratched and said a rug and sofa cushion were stained. In addition, a tenant who stayed at the beach home weeks later claimed two chairs in the dining room were “completely broken.”
“Dish mat was laid over dish rack to the right of the kitchen sink; upon lifting both full of mold and mildew,” the complaint continued. “[Metal] bed frame was broken, wood footboard bent.”
In a bedroom, one wall was reportedly damaged with scratches and stains while the runner on the room’s dresser was also stained. Meanwhile, blinds were allegedly torn off the rod and found on a nearby sofa.
After the complaint was filed, Teresa was served and given a court date of September 26, 2018. A clerk for the Ocean County Superior Court is however confirming that the case against Teresa was “settled per telephone call” shortly after the court filing.
