“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jennifer Aydin addressed the backlash she received after she shared a video involving workers at a Jersey Mike’s.
While speaking to Us Weekly in January 2025, Aydin said she did not expect to receive backlash for posting the video. In the Instagram Story, uploaded on January 1, Aydin criticized the workers at the restaurant, specifically an older woman, who she described as an “80-year-old.” Aydin was upset when she was told to get in the back of the line after she wanted to add another sandwich to her order. According to Aydin, an employee asked a fellow customer if he would allow her to add to her order. Aydin said that the customer got annoyed with her and made rude comments, upsetting her further.
During the Us Weekly interview, Aydin said she “was not rude to the Jersey Mike’s staff at all.” Aydin said she only began to take issue when the older employee had said she was not going “to not even give [her] the one sandwich [she] was waiting on line for 40 minutes.”
“I started recording when they refused to let me add an additional sandwich,” said Aydin to Us Weekly.
Aydin also said she did not believe she was treated fairly by the Jersey Mike’s workers and the customer.
“I felt I was owed an apology by Jersey Mike’s, I did. I felt like I was owed an apology from the gentleman. They were completely rude and dismissive to me,” said Aydin to Us Weekly.
She said, however, that she does regret posting the video. In addition, she apologized for calling one of the workers “an 80-year-old woman.”
Jennifer Aydin Made Similar Comments About the Situation in a Separate Interview
While speaking to Page Six in January 2025, Aydin said she let her “emotions run away from [her]” during her incident at Jersey Mike’s. She also said she initially believed Jersey Mike’s would issue her an apology for the situation. She said, however, that she has since changed her mind.
“Maybe I’d get an apology from Jersey Mike’s also. For being so freaking rude and dismissive. But, no, I don’t want that anymore. I’m sorry,” said Aydin to the publication.
Margaret Josephs Gave Her Opinion About Jennifer Aydin
Aydin’s RHONJ co-star Margaret Josephs gave her opinion about Aydin’s Instagram upload on the radio program, “Reality Checked,” as reported by Reality Blurb.
“I was actually in shock,” said Josephs.
Josephs said that she had been “feeling empathetic towards her” because Aydin “was very upset” about how she is presented on RHONJ. She said, however, that she felt “secondhand embarrassment” when watching Aydin’s video.
“I was heartbroken that someone’s mother, these people are working so hard. They’re serving you, and you being so entitled … I actually was mortified. And then, all I’m thinking is you don’t wanna be portrayed as a villain, stop acting like one,” said Josephs.
