Melissa Gorga reacted to Andy Cohen’s latest comments about the status of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey,”
After the Bravo host insinuated that there may be no news about the 15th season of the Jersey-based reality show until 2026, Gorga told Entertainment Tonight it sounded like way too long to keep the cast in limbo. “Oh my God, why?” Gorga asked in the December 2024 interview. “I just heard that. Why? That’s a really long time. Even if I’m a part of it or not a part, that’s a really long time.”
Bravo put RHONJ on “pause” after the feuding cast members had a particularly volatile 14th season. There has been talk of a partial recasting or a full reboot.
The 14th season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” starred Gorga, Teresa Giudice, Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral, and Rachel Fuda, and “friends” Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler.
Melissa Gorga Warned That Bravo Could ‘Lose’ Everybody
On December 16, Cohen told Us Weekly no decisions had been made regarding the RHONJ cast. When asked for an update on the Bravo reality show, Cohen said, “You’re not gonna get it for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking. And I keep saying you are going to get nothing, so stop asking!”
Gorga told ET there has to be an announcement before 2026.
“We have to have news before then,” she said. “I think he would lose everyone [if they were in limbo for that long]. Everyone would be like…unless they were fully recasting so need that much time to figure that out. Which I don’t know, I feel like they need to keep a couple of familiar faces, if you ask me.”
Gorga added that she had “zero” idea of which way the show would land. “I can see it going so many different ways,” she told ET.
Melissa Gorga Explained How She’s Using Her Downtime
Gorga has been keeping busy during her extended hiatus from reality TV. In December 2024, she launched a new sprinkle cookie business.
In an interview with PIX 11 News’ ‘New York Living,” she said her baking business was “a long time coming.” “I feel like this is the perfect timing right now because I have a little bit more time,“ she explained. “I focus so much on Envy, my clothing store, and all of that, but this has really been the perfect timing and just the perfect scenario to come out with them.”
She told ET, “I’ve had the idea for years…I was actually going to do it with another company and the deal kind of fell through. And then they put us on pause and I have all this time now, it just kind of put me in overdrive of like focusing on me a little bit and not just ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey.’ And I just dove right in.”
Gorga revealed that one week in, her Sprinkles by MG company was shipping out seven pallets worth of goodies per day. She was also happy to see Bethenny Frankel’s rave review of the cookies.
During a December 18 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Gorga told Cohen, “Timing is everything.”
When he asked if this was a good timing to launch her cookies, presumably given RHONJ’s pause, she replied, “The best timing. It all happens for a reason, I believe that. I think people miss Jersey. So they are so excited by this.”
