The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star announced that she and husband Joe Benigno recently "welcomed" their new pup Edie
Margaret Josephs is a proud dog mom!
On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband, Joe Benigno, revealed in a joint Instagram post that they're now pet parents to their "new baby Edie," sharing the news in a newborn-style announcement.
"It's a girl! 🩷," Josephs, 57, hilariously captioned a carousel of dog pictures. "We are excited to announce we welcomed our new baby Edie into the family this October."
"Weighing just 3lbs 1oz with an abundance of thick hair and warm excitable spirit," she added. "She looks just like daddy but already has mommy's wicked sense of humor. 😉 Edie Bouvier Benigno you are so loved. 🐕💕👧🏼👨🏽."
The fur baby announcement included photos of Josephs's three-pound, one-ounce bundle of joy, including one showing Josephs and Benigno sitting in bed together and holding the pup close.
Other snaps of Edie featured Benigno giving her a few pets, Josephs rubbing her belly, and the pup making her way around the couple's bed.
A few of Josephs's Real Housewives of New Jersey cast mates such as Melissa Gorga commented underneath the puppy announcement, writing that Edie is "the cutest," while Jennifer Fessler wrote that she "can't wait to meet my niece!"
"Oh my god !!!! So happy for you guys 🐾💕," wrote Dolores Catania.
The pair have also created an Instagram page just for their new pup. On Wednesday, they launched the account @littleedieb alongside a photo of the dog snuggling next to Benigno's Timberland boots. "I love a plumber too," the photo's caption read, and Josephs commented underneath, "Edie, we love you, but I have to be your favorite!! 😍💕💕🐾."
Benigno captioned the same photo on his Instagram account: "Guess we know who Edie's favorite person is!!"
"Them's fighting words 💪😜🐾💕," Josephs commented in response.
Back in June, Josephs announced on Instagram that her beloved Yorkie had died, noting that her "living angel baby Bella has gone over the rainbow bridge." The reality star adopted Bella in 2018 when the dog was five years old, as she and her husband were looking for a small, hypoallergenic pet.
"Our world and hearts are broken. She was the perfect, happiest little bff in the world. Always ready to kiss, cuddle, play, and brighten up your darkest day. She loved everyone (except for landscapers), and everyone loved her," she wrote.
"A piece of me died along with her. She was a rescue but in reality she saved us 💔🥹🐾🌈."
