The Real Housewives of New Jersey is back for a new season, but the past still haunts the cast.

In the season 14 premiere, the women — and their husbands — contemplate how they will approach Teresa Giudice after the messy reunion last year. Since Teresa bid adieu to her relationship with sister-in-law Melissa and brother Joe Gorga, the family has not been on speaking terms, and it seems that’s how it will stay.

“I really don’t want to answer any questions about Teresa this year,” Melissa says in her confessional at the beginning of the episode. teresa giudice

However, she quickly breaks that boundary. As the Gorgas prepare to send their daughter Antonia off to college, Melissa is reminded that Joe helped move Teresa’s daughter Gia into her dorm in 2019.

“You moved your niece into college, I forgot,” Melissa tells her husband, who stays quiet. “This will be your second rodeo."

Teresa’s daughter Gabriella is also leaving for college, so she and husband Luis Ruelas sit down with their kids for a family dinner. Teresa shows off her wedding album, calling Luis her “soulmate."

“I was mad at God at one point because I didn't understand why I had to go to jail, then I lost my mother, then I lost my father,” she admits. “But I finally got my answer. I went through all of this in order to meet my soulmate, Luis.”

Not everyone is a fan of Luis, though. When Margaret Josephs sits down with Jennifer Fessler for coffee, Margaret shares where she stands in her relationship with Teresa after she revealed at the reunion that Luis called her son at work to threaten him.

“As far as I'm concerned, she's dead to me — her and her husband,” Margaret says.

When Jen Fessler suggests she ask Teresa to explain the situation, Margaret shuts down the idea.

“I don’t want my name brought up to her and him,” Margaret says. “I don’t want them to utter my name.”Teresa Giudice, Margaret Josephs

In the next scene, Teresa and Luis meet Dolores Catania and her boyfriend Paul for dinner. Rachel Fuda is planning a surprise party for Jen Fessler, where John Fuda is hoping to see Luis to discuss their falling out at the reunion after Luis admitted to hiring a private investigator to look into the Fudas.

“I don’t need an audience,” Luis says, adding that he asked John to meet another time, but John declined.

Teresa claims the women at the reunion had “a plan to go against Luis and I,” and she doesn't want that to happen again.

“Danielle [Cabral] told me at New York, Jen Fessler said to the people across from us, ‘You guys didn’t execute the plan correctly,’” Teresa says before Dolores encourages Teresa to bring it up to the group.

When the party comes around, the ladies all gather for the first time since the season 13 reunion, and Teresa says she will “absolutely not” say hi to the Gorgas. Melissa seems to be on the same page, with her and her husband also ignoring Teresa.

“I feel nothing,” Melissa says about seeing her sister-in-law in person.

Meanwhile, Luis was not able to make it because he was “away on business,” but John thinks it is an excuse to avoid confrontation about the P.I. Luis hired.

“You want to meet somebody in person, a party’s not the place to talk to them,” Paul says to John, defending Luis’ absence. “It looks like you’re on a side,” John claps back.

After arguing back and forth, Dolores decides to step in.

“Always know where the exit is — my dad taught me that — it’s time to leave,” Dolores says. “You guys are done talking.”Dolores Catania, Paul Connell

That wasn’t the last screaming match of the night for John, though. Teresa, who had a conversation with Jennifer Aydin on the way there about online rumors that John Fuda was a drug dealer, decided to bring the accusations into the party.

“I don’t want to talk now but your husband went for my husband trying to ruin his reputation,” Teresa tells Rachel Fuda.

Teresa says her husband was a “gentleman” for trying to “clear the air” before the party, but John didn’t want to.

“What do you know about gentlemen?” Rachel asks Teresa, who responds with an anecdote about a conversation Luis and John had prior to their falling out.

“You know what your husband said to my husband?” Teresa says. “‘I have tremendous respect for your wife because we both went to jail.’”

Teresa then brings up the rumors she read online — which John has denied. “I heard that your husband is the biggest drug dealer in Bergen County,” she says. “So don’t come for my husband, because I will come for your husband.”John Fuda and Rachel Fuda attend the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 Premiere

As she heads for the exit, Rachel brings John over, urging Teresa to tell him what she was talking about.

“Who told you that?” John asks, to which Teresa replies: “Your ex. It’s out on social media.”

“You don’t know s–--,” John yells. “Don’t go down this route.”

Teresa then turns around and leaves while John shouts “has been” across the room, and the episode comes to a close.
