At Teresa's pool party on season 12, Gia came face-to-face with her uncle Joe Gorga after not seeing him for six months. Joe said negative things about Joe Giudice to his nieces and can't forgive him for putting his sister in jail. Gia confronted Joe for disrespecting her father. "You're going to come at me disrespectfully? Because then I won't talk to you. I'm an adult now too, so you can talk to me like one," she said, taking Joe Giudice's side. Joe removed himself from the situation to cool off. "She looks at me like I'm the devil. Her father was the devil!" Joe said to Teresa's fiance, Luis Ruelas. Melissa tried to end the fight by telling Gia that Joe loves her like his own daughter. Gia's facial expression during the fight turned into a meme on social media.
