RHOC's John Janssen Recalls Shannon Beador’s “Extreme Rage” on Night of DUI, Claims She Physically Attacked Him, and Threatened Daughters as He Shares "Final Straw," How He Cared for Her for 10 Days, and Explains Ring Camera VideosJohn Janssen looked back on the “terrifying and traumatic” night of Shannon Beador‘s DUI during an interview earlier this week.

While also revealing details about how he cared for Shannon, 60, after her crash, sharing the “final straw” in their relationship, and explaining why he kept Ring camera videos of that fateful evening, the Real Housewives of Orange County star, 62, confirmed that while he heard Shannon’s accident from his home, his daughters advised him against checking on her.

“Shannon and I weren’t together that night. I had been in Catalina on my boat with friends. I got home at about 11, Shannon was in my home, uninvited, we hadn’t talked. I didn’t expect to see her there, [and] the level of intoxication was shocking,” John recalled during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Upon his arrival, John learned Shannon had left her phone in an Uber, and that the driver had returned the phone to her property. But after retrieving the phone and placing it on Shannon’s front door, hoping that once he informed Shannon of where it was, she’d walk home, things took a turn for the worse.

“She went into extreme rage … It was like she was possessed, and she continued to physically attack me for probably the next minute,” he stated, sharing that he pleaded for Shannon to “stop” as his daughters arrived. He then greeted them and informed them of what was happening.

“I’ve got scratches on me and I’m pretty upset. Shannon then comes out of the house screaming at the top of her lungs [and] starts threatening my daughters,” John continued.

Then, Shannon tried to get behind the wheel.

“I finally said, ‘Shannon, you’re a drunk idiot and you’re making a big mistake,’ and she gets in her car, floors it in reverse out of my driveway, comes within inches of hitting one of my daughters … and then races around the corner and we hear the crash,” John revealed. “If a drunk fool came within inches of hitting your child, would it be no big deal?”

While John wanted to rush to the crash, his daughters told him not to go anywhere near Shannon and said they’d go instead. Once they arrived, Shannon was pulling off, convincing them all that she was okay, despite the loud crash. But a short time later, police arrived at John’s home with Archie, who had been in the car with Shannon.

“It was at that point in my mind I knew she was arrested,” he shared.

After texting Shannon and getting no response, John called the hospital, where he was informed of Shannon’s injuries and arrest.

“After that, I was on the phone off and on the entire night, zero sleep, with her daughter, and the next morning, I was at the police station waiting for her to be released from jail,” he went on. “I put aside my sadness, anger, frustration of being terrorized that night and my daughters being terrorized that night. I put all that aside to be there for her … I took her home. I helped her undress. I bathed her. I fed her. I did her grocery shopping. I took her laundry to the cleaners. I took her to her doctors’ appointments. I cared for her for the next 10 days.”

Although some have felt that John should’ve done more, he admitted to being too afraid.

”I’m not going to touch her in any way and then have accusations made against me for something else,” he reasoned.

As for his final straw with Shannon, John said that while he couldn’t reveal details, it involved one of his kids.

“It was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and I made a phone call to Shannon saying, ‘I’m sorry but I can’t be friends with you. I need to completely divorce myself from your world and your life,’” he revealed.

During the 18th season of RHOC, John’s fiancee, Alexis Bellino, 47, mentioned Ring camera videos taken on the night of Shannon’s DUI. But John insisted he did not plan to film her.

“[The cameras] are there for security and for deterrent. It’s one of the most terrifying and traumatic nights of my life. I never wanted for some false narrative to come out there, so I always kind of knew, the footage was there,” he explained. “Alexis did make a mistake of bringing them up, and she regrets it, but never once did it ever come out of my mouth that I would ever show them to anyone.”

According to John, even Shannon knows he’d never leak the clips, which is why she took out a requirement for him to agree to never show them amid their lawsuit fight.

“It was a straight financial deal at the end,” he said, confirming he didn’t have to sign a non-disparagement agreement like Shannon had originally wanted.

Looking back at their “volatile” and “toxic” relationship, John suggested Shannon’s drinking was to blame.

“When things would get to a certain point, I needed to step away, let her cool off, and talk about it later. It was a matter of me setting boundaries and it definitely had to do with alcohol,” he stated.

Regarding their back-and-forth claims about finances, John slammed the narrative of him being a “broke loser” who lived off his ex-girlfriend.

“I’m a successful business owner of multiple businesses. I built those businesses while raising three kids by myself. I’ve never taken a dime from Shannon and never needed to. It’s a very different story than what people think,” he explained. “She said she paid for everything then she went to the first two years and then she went to the first year, so the story does change constantly.”

Although John admitted that Shannon footed the bill for some of their trips to New York, he noted that she only did so because he thought Bravo was paying. And once he learned that was not the case, he offered to reimburse her and began paying the difference of what Bravo paid and for his own plane tickets on future getaways.

Also during the interview, John said he only agreed to film RHOC so Shannon wouldn’t lose her job.

”I didn’t want to [film]. Shannon then received her contract, and I was a condition of bringing her back to the show that year, and that repeated itself in the second year I filmed and the third year I filmed, so I was put in this no-win situation,” he shared. “Having said that, I don’t mind being interviewed. I’m not that private. I’m actually more of an open book with most people.”
