If Emily Simpson had her way, she’d be filming more scenes with Alexis Bellino — and spend far less time with Katie Ginella.
“I would take Alexis any day over Katie,” Emily, 49, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while promoting The Real Housewives of Orange County. “Alexis is like a Labrador. She’s a dingdong, but it’s to your face. Katie’s the kind of person that you don’t know what she’s doing behind closed doors. That’s scary.”
During the season 19 premiere of Bravo’s hit reality show, Emily confronted Katie, 41, for allegedly messaging a Bravo blogger about her personal life.
Although Emily said she “removed myself from that” drama after the first episode, The Innocence Center supporter said Katie will be put in the hot seat with other ladies throughout the season.
Later this month, Shannon Beador will confront Katie for secretly filming her during a Bravo photo shoot.
Although Katie apologizes, previews suggest Shannon, 61, isn’t quick to forgive and forget.
“I think people were starting to realize that she does a lot of things that are deceptive,” Emily said. “I’ve seen Shannon freak out. I’ve known her for seven years. … Not one time have I felt compelled to take out my phone and film her for purposes of showing other people or talking about it or whatever. I think that’s such a breach of trust and an invasion of privacy.”
When asked if Katie will ever find a place in the group, Emily expressed her doubts.
“I don’t see any way other than, I can clearly see that she’s trying through Tamra [Judge],” she shared.
The cast for season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County remains the same, except for the departure of Alexis as a “friend” of the ladies. Gretchen Rossi has returned to take on the role.
While Emily was critical of Alexis in season 18 and called her “the dumbest girl I’ve ever met” during the reunion special, she has slightly changed her tune.
“I don’t have hard feelings towards Alexis,” Emily explained to Us. “I think that she went wrong in a lot of things that she did, and I think if she self-reflected, she probably understands that she did do things.”
The host of iHeartRadio’s “Legally Brunette” podcast said Alexis “could never pivot” and move forward in regards to her feud with Shannon.
“I understand you feel the way you do, and I understand you’re obsessed with John [Janssen], and you think he’s the greatest thing ever, and I understand you think Shannon’s the villain,” she said. “That’s valid. But you have to pivot at some point, and she just never could.”
When asked if she’s invited to Alexis and John’s wedding, Emily laughed.
“Absolutely not,” she replied. “If she invited me, I wouldn’t go. It would hurt Shannon’s feelings. I would never do that.”
