RHOC Star Shannon Beador Settles $75,000 Lawsuit With Ex John Janssen

RHOC Star Shannon Beador Settles $75,000 Lawsuit With Ex John Janssen After He Refuses to Sign Non-Disparagement AgreementShannon Beador has settled the $75,000 lawsuit her ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, filed against her earlier this year, claiming she had failed to repay him for the alleged loan.

One week after Shannon, 60, and John, 62, requested a jury trial, their case has come to an end. Shannon and John dated for three years before John struck up a romance with her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star, Alexis Bellino, 47, and sued Shannon.

According to court documents dated November 15 and obtained by PEOPLE on November 19, a “Notice of Settlement of Entire Case” has been filed, with John confirming they’d reached an agreement and checking a box indicating that a second filing for dismissal would be submitted within 45 days.

In their request for a jury trial one week ago, Shannon and John said they were “willing” to attend a settlement conference — but it was never actually scheduled.

As for the details of their agreement, those have been kept under wraps.

As RHOC fans well know, Shannon said she offered to pay John the full $75,000, which she used for a facelift, if he agreed to sign a non-disparagement agreement, which he wouldn’t do. Meanwhile, John reportedly refused to sign only because it would prevent him from defending himself against future claims made against him. Still, Shannon and her castmates questioned his intentions with the suit, and the topic became a main storyline on season 18.

“I did need money at the time,” Shannon said in one interview on the show. “[John] said ‘I wish you could get a low-interest loan,’ and I go, ‘Well you have money.’”

She even spoke of a “promissory note,” but she insisted she and John never agreed that the $75,000 would be paid back.

As for John, who claimed to be quite private, he discussed the matter during a filmed confessional with now-fiancee Alexis.

“I didn’t want to take legal action, but my hands were tied as I was days away from crossing the statute of limitations of being able to do anything legally,” he revealed. “[Beador] 100% knew these were loans, I have proof of that. Shannon sent me an email admitting it was a loan, so the comments about these being gifts are patently false.”

“Shannon has an interesting relationship with the truth,” he added.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 reunion concludes on Thursday, November 21, at 9/8c on Bravo.
