Meghan King had a rough day on Wednesday.
As she and her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, continues to struggle to co-parent their three kids, daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 4, the Real Housewives of Orange County star took to her Instagram Story, where she shared a video of herself crying over their worsening issues with one another.
“Nobody really talks about coercive control and the after-effects of divorce,” Meghan began in her February 15 clip.
According to Psychology Today, coercive control is “a strategic form of ongoing psychological and emotional abuse that is based on control, manipulation, and oppression,” and it is often associated with “narcissism-fueled abuse.”
“People say, ‘It will get better in time. It’ll get better with time.’ It’s been three years. When? What time? What time do I have to wait for?” she continued. “The lawyers told me that. My parenting coordinator, everybody told me that.”
“It’s not better. It’s worse,” Meghan added.
Just prior to Meghan’s video, Jim surfaced on his own Instagram Story, where he reshared a message she posted just over an hour prior.
“These are all the messages I’ve sent. He hasn’t read the one I sent yesterday asking about future dates. I did this [because] a little bird told me he’s leaving town during his custody days and he didn’t offer me the kids,” Meghan alleged in the post as a red circle highlighted the fact that one of her emails was “never viewed.”
Meanwhile, in additional messages, Jim, who married wife Kortnie O’Connor in September 2020, seemingly suggested that the message had not yet been viewed because it was “dinner time” on Valentine’s Day.
In another post, Meghan told her fans and followers that she had put on a Cartier bracelet Jim had gifted her years prior because she loves it and wanted to reclaim her power.
“Jim gave me this [Cartier] love bracelet and I haven’t worn it for [three] years [because] of its symbolism… But I love it,” she explained. “I put it back on before the [Gaia Haven Experience] retreat and reclaimed my power with self-love.”
Just last week, Jim called out Meghan for allegedly lying to their kids as she attended what his rep told Page Six was a “narcissism retreat.”
“Sad when your ex tells the kids you don’t want to see them when you’re busy … Then doesn’t let you see them when she’s out of town,” read his message from “unknown.”
Then, in their statement to Page Six, the rep added, “Jim thinks it’s really sad the kids are being left with a nanny instead of their father, who changed his Super Bowl plans so he could be with them. Hopefully Meghan enjoys her narcissism retreat.”
Meghan and Jim were featured alongside one another on The Real Housewives of Orange County seasons 10 through 12.
