Gina Kirschenheiter said she would consider leaving Real Housewives of Orange County if Katie Ginella returns next season. She also praised Shannon Beador, and she addressed whether producers hate her.
Last season, Alexis Bellino returned as a friend not long after starting a relationship with Shannon’s ex, John Janssen. Shortly into the season, John sued Shannon over the claim that she never paid him back. At the time, Shannon was also dealing with the aftermath of her DUI.
In the new season, many castmates are going after Katie after it was discovered that she communicated with a Bravo fan account about Tamra Judge. Recently, however, a fan alleged that Tamra herself DM’d a blogger in a similar way, though no one is willing to challenge Tamra.
On the Housewives Nightcap podcast, Gina addressed rumors that Katie won’t be back next season.
“Well, I don’t make those decisions,” she said, via @thebravoinvestigator on Instagram. “I will say that I haven’t seen her, you know, in a very long time. And I have no plans to see her. And I will say that, honestly, I’m sort of to the point where … if she was to be a part of this group next year, I would seriously question whether I wanted to be.”
Around the same time, in an interview for Radio Andy on SiriusXM, Gina was asked if producers hate Shannon.
Though she acknowledged that Shannon made mistakes in the past, she praised her for filming at all after everything she had gone through.
The host then asked if producers brought back Alexis to torture Shannon.
“No,” said Gina. “I think that [her dating John] was a happy accident. I actually do believe that. I believe that they were already talking to Alexis … And they were like, this is now [the] icing on the top … Wait for this s**t.”
In a preview for the upcoming episode, Jennifer Pedranti questioned if Heather Dubrow gives Tamra grace because it puts her in a safer position. Despite the fan animosity toward Tamra, many castmates, including Gina, remain loyal to her.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County air Thursday nights on Bravo.
