RHOBH’s Kyle Richards on Why She Believes Erika & Rinna Wanted to Expose Kathy as Erika Suggests Legal Action Was Taken, Talks Double Standards

'RHOBH' Star Kyle Richards Shares Why Erika Jayne and Lisa Rinna Wanted to Expose Kathy Hilton as Erika Suggests Legal Action Was Taken and Comments on Double StandardsKyle Richards believes Erika Jayne and Lisa Rinna had good reason for wanting to expose Kathy Hilton‘s meltdown in Aspen.

As speculation continues into what exactly Kathy said and did after an alleged spat with the DJ at the Caribou Club sent her into a reported tailspin, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member shared why she feels her co-stars wanted the story out there as Erika hinted that a legal letter was sent amid the drama.

“I think that Erika or Rinna wanted it out there because they did not like what they saw, and they thought, ‘You’re not gonna get away with this.’ I mean, Rinna says that,” Kyle explained on the October 5 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “They were like, ‘No, no no. You don’t get to be all unicorns and rainbows and then do this when no one’s looking and think you’re gonna get away with it.’”

“In my mind, I was thinking, ‘Okay this is Erika trying to get everyone off her situation and talk about what happened with my sister and me in Aspen,’” Kyle continued.

According to Kyle, she was most upset about the situation surrounding Kathy because a lot of what was being said was incorrect, including one particularly “damaging” claim.

“The facts weren’t even correct, and it felt like to me like, ‘Oh okay, are you talking about this to divert the attention from yourself?’” she admitted, giving a nod to the ongoing backlash Erika had been facing due to her legal drama — and the offensive comments she’d made about it.

And, as RHOBH fans saw, Erika admitted to wanting Kathy to be called out.

“I do. I’m gonna talk about it,” she shared.

Erika also described Los Angeles as “very litigious” and potentially confirmed rumors of the cease and desist Kathy was accused of (and denied) sending earlier this year.

“A lot of letters are sent back and forth from lawyers,” she noted.

“But I think that’s what most important is that, for me, there are not two sets of rules,” Erika went on, suggesting she had been faced with double standards amid season 12. “If we’re gonna talk about people’s lives, we’re gonna talk about people’s lives.”

Also on the RHOBH: After Show, Sutton Stracke pointed out the way in which Lisa and Erika “removed themselves rather quickly” after Kyle began raising questions about their potential involvement in the leaking of stories about Kathy.

“I remember going to snatch them back in. I am not afraid of either one of them… So I went and got ’em because Kyle wanted to know because it was hurting her family,” she shared.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 reunion begins airing Wednesday, October 12, at 8/7c on Bravo.
