Sutton Stracke, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), has left fans puzzled as her upscale boutique, The Sutton Concept, unexpectedly shut down—even though it was recently featured in the latest episode of the show. Photos of the storefront being boarded up have sparked speculation, especially after comedian and writer Gary Janetti exposed the situation in his latest vlog.
Gary Janetti was in West Hollywood, where The Sutton Concept was located, and was surprised to find the boutique closed. In his vlog, he pointed out that the store had recently been showcased on RHOBH, yet in reality, it was shut down. With a sarcastic tone, Gary joked:
"It's not Sutton... it's nutton."
He even tagged RHOBH co-star Dorit Kemsley in his video, ensuring that she would see the state of Sutton’s store. Fans saw this as a particularly shady move, subtly calling out the apparent discrepancy between the show’s portrayal and real-life events.
Adding to the confusion, Taste of Reality, a fashion brand that had its products featured in The Sutton Concept in August 2024, confirmed that they visited the store last year, only to find it already closed. They also pointed out that there were no signs indicating its closure, and its hours of operation had not been updated on Google.
Amid the speculation, Sutton Stracke finally addressed the status of The Sutton Concept. In an interview on Jeff Lewis Live, she reassured fans that her business was still running and that the rumors of permanent closure were misleading.
The following week, this pic was posted on social media …
Sutton explained that the viral "For Lease" sign was actually a mistake made by her assistant. Blaming her team with humor, she said:
“Avi is responsible. I swear to God—I was out of town.”
Jeff Lewis jokingly responded:
“You didn’t pay your rent.”
Sutton, playing along, added:
“I didn’t pay my rent, so they kicked me out.”
However, she clarified that she had actually expanded her business and no longer needed a traditional storefront. All of her inventory had been moved to Houston, and she joked about the journey:
“The driver transporting my inventory was probably smoking weed like Willie Nelson, On The Road Again. He’s on his way to Houston with all of my stock.”
While the store’s physical location in West Hollywood is no longer operating as before, Sutton revealed that her business has transitioned into an appointment-based model.
“I’m in the back,” she told Jeff Lewis. “I have a beautiful apartment in the back. So, we’re now appointment-only.”
Jeff pressed her for clarification on the store’s physical location, and Sutton explained that the previous storefront space would now be redesigned.
“That corner is actually beautiful—it has a great patio. So, we’re remodeling the space. I’ll leave my samples there so people can come in by appointment.”
So, has The Sutton Concept officially closed? According to Sutton, the boutique is not gone but has simply shifted to a more exclusive, appointment-based model. However, with her recent lawsuit over $158,000 in unpaid rent, some still question the true financial status of her business.
While the full story remains uncertain, one thing is clear: RHOBH will likely explore this drama in upcoming episodes, and fans will be watching closely as Sutton Stracke navigates the challenges of running a high-end fashion business.
