Kyle and Dorit seem to be in the same boat as their marriages unravel. But that certainly does not bring them any closer to resolving their friendship issues. On this episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the reality of a separation hits like a ton of bricks. Plus, Bozoma shares more of her life while Sutton and Erika warn of the dark side of divorce…
Dorit is in the midst of trying to have an honest conversation with Kyle about “real stuff.” Dorit is really done with the BS. She reminds Kyle that their history counts, so when Kyle announced that Dorit exaggerated their friendship, it hurt. Dorit feels like Kyle took “8 years of a deep sisterly friendship and flushed it down the toilet.”
Kyle keeps reminding Dorit of the BravoCon sister ranking, but that was definitely a joke, according to Dorit. Kyle also points out that Dorit said Kyle turns the tears on for attention. Dorit feels like Kyle was mad about her WWHL comment about Morgan and now Kyle is retaliating. Dorit reminds Kyle that she isolated her and remained cold and distant. Kyle *thinks* she has been a good friend, but Dorit isn’t buying Kyle’s excuse of having a hard two years, shouting her “grace time is over.”
Kyle storms off and Dorit leaves shortly after, since she is fed up with the lack of progress they’ve made to fix their friendship. Dorit is ready to have her voice heard, even it means p*ssing a few people off along the way.
We learn more about the newest Housewife, Boz. Her name means goddess and she is, like Kathy said, a BOSS in business. She had a 25 year run in corporate America where she was named the #1 most influential CMO by Forbes and then some; however, now that she has retired, she is busier than ever doing podcasts and the Bad A*s Workshop. Boz opens up about her “ginger-haired” husband, who has since passed away from cancer when her daughter was only 4. She uses this story to talk about the trauma and all the pivoting she has had to do in her life, reminding us all that WE are the pivot.
Sutton talks about the past year and the accusations that got thrown at her by Kyle over the course of last season. However, Sutton seems closer with Kyle despite the insinuations. Kyle talks about how she gets along with Mauricio, but Sutton reminds Kyle that once money is brought up, things may become tense. Sutton is having a hard time believing that Mo will easily part with his money and tells Kyle that she should file for divorce to draw a line in the sand.
Boz invites Dorit and Erika over to her home and makes them take off their shoes, which blows Dorit’s mind. As the ladies traipse through Boz’s home, they make their way out to her outdoor oasis and toast over some champagne. Boz finds out more about the “layered” things going on between Dorit and Kyle. According to Dorit, Kyle keeps changing her mind what she is mad about (kudos to the producers with the “grievances”) and Dorit is not going to take it anymore.
In the meantime, Kyle tells Sutton that she pulled away from Dorit because she doesn’t feel like she trusts Dorit. According to Kyle, Dorit lacks accountability and self-awareness. Kyle feels like Dorit made the bed to push Kyle away, so now she has to lie in it.
Erika remains a neutral party in this whole Kyle/Dorit business, since both women are going through difficult times and separations. Things ARE hard- Dorit has not even told the truth about her marriage to her own children; however, Dorit points out that when PK was drinking, he would take off and be gone for weeks, so this having PK gone isn’t new to the kids. When asked about a potential reconciliation in the marriage, Dorit remains vague…
Later, Sutton decides that Kyle needs a mood booster and she needs it fast. Ever since Mo replaced a picture of him and Kyle with a picture of him and his Dancing With the Stars partner, Kyle has been down. Sutton decides to throw a surprise pizza and pjs party for Kyle and she has enlisted the help of Kathy and Erika to pull this off.
As they prep to sneak up on Kyle, who is quietly making her dinner in her (empty) home with Portia, Kathy decides she will disguise her voice as an Amazon worker to try to get Kyle’s gate open. This is comic relief, considering Kathy likely never received a call from an Amazon worker personally.
They save the day when they ambush Kyle with their pizza kits and pjs (thanks to Kathy). They whip up some pies and then sit together to enjoy. Kyle is super grateful to have Sutton, Erika, and Kathy there to support her as she navigates this tough time. Kathy throws some shade at Mauricio and jokes around about Mo’s Instagram pics of him in the gym. Sutton and Erika warn Kyle not to trust too much and to prepare for the worst (although Sutton still receives $350k a month). Kyle feels like their divorce will not be the nasty norm that many people go through, but perhaps she is just being naive.
This is the first time Dorit is seeing PK since the announcement of their separation. Dorit is hopeful to start navigating their situation over a meal. Dorit orders her normal carcass out drink in front of a newly sober PK, who has also gone out to get some new clothes. In his single PK era, I see. PK explains that he is clear on their decision and points out that they do not speak to each other nicely.
In her talking head, Dorit shares that she finds it “hurtful” when PK refers to himself as “single PK.”
For once, Dorit doesn’t deny the ugliness of the relationship. PK does not like when Dorit talks to him a certain way and he doesn’t think that Dorit made any changes. Dorit knew his touch points and had no problem going low to win a fight. Dorit admits to saying “really ugly gross” things to PK and she’s come a long way from being his number one. PK believes that in a “real marriage, the spouse comes first,” but lately, Dorit has made him feel less than.
In her confessional, Dorit sheds more light on the ugly things they say to each other during their fights.
“The progression of mine and PK’s fighting, and this is where it really became too toxic, was that we went from just screaming at one another, but not using profanity, to cursing at one another, to actually having digs that were below the belt,” said Dorit. “‘Oh I hope you rot in hell!’ ‘I hope you are alone for the rest of your life!’ ‘You’re gonna fall down off your chair drunk because you’re nothing but blah, blah, blah, blah.’ Really ugly gross things.”
PK reminds Dorit that they will no longer be talking five times a day, since they need a break from the co-dependency. This totally catches Dorit off guard, since it seems like she thought she had the upper hand. Based on PK’s frustrations, it is unclear where they go next on this separation journey.
