Sources accused Teddi Mellencamp and her husband Edwin of having affairs before she filed for divorce. Teddi, who exited Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after season 10, is the fourth of the ‘Fox Force Five’ alliance to split with a spouse, following Erika Jayne, Kyle Richards, and Dorit Kemsley.
In the past, Teddi has made comments leading fans to believe that Edwin cheated, though nothing has been verified. The couple tied the knot in July of 2011. She’s reportedly seeking alimony and primary custody of their three kids.
“I received many DMs about what I’m gonna describe as an open secret because a lot of people seem to know about this,” said the host of tea podcast Deux U, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “Allegedly Teddi cheated on her husband with her horse trainer who is also married.”
“People are telling me this is a well-known fact in the horse show community,” the host went on. “And that when the wife found out — this is this person’s words — an all-out brawl between them happened at a horse show in mid-September when everything came to light. So I would gather that’s why so many people know about it.”
“Somebody else messaged me and said, ‘Allegedly Teddi cheated with someone who rides horses where she does. Everyone knew there for months,’ according to the gossip,” the host added. “It seems that Edwin found out the day before the announcement.”
But a third source claimed a friend told them that Edwin was allegedly cheating on Teddi.
“From the sound of it, Teddi knew to some extent and they were working through it,” said the host. “So to see this [divorce] definitely is not shocking and sounds like Teddi just had enough of his s**t.”
None of the rumors have been confirmed by Teddi or Edwin.
A few days after her filing, Teddi shared on her Two Ts In A Pod podcast why she decided to publicly announce the divorce on social media.
“For anybody that’s curious why I would’ve posted it, posted a statement, it’s because when your name is recognizable and you file in the court system, it becomes public,” she said, via Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram. “I know that I am going to keep working on feeling my best so that I can show up the best for my kids, and my life, and my work. I think that’s the biggest thing for me right now.”
