Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband, Apollo Nida, is officially back on the market after finalizing his divorce from his ex Sherien Copes, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Apollo, 46, and Sherien attended mediation on March 11 and hashed out a divorce deal.
"The parties testified that they have no children, no joint property and no joint debts to divide or consider,” the final judgment and decree of divorce read. “They testified that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
The order said the parties are instructed to abide by the agreement they reached. The judge signed off on the divorce.
Per their deal, Sherien agreed to change the grounds for divorce in her petition to being irretrievably broken, adultery and emotional abuse.
As In Touch first reported, Sherien filed for divorce from Apollo on February 7.
She claimed Apollo had subjected her to cruel treatment due to him having sexual intercourse with someone during their marriage and that he had “intentionally and continually deserted” her for at least a year.
She wrote, “[Apollo] has committed adultery multiple times throughout our relationship. [Apollo] refused to seek professional help with his mental health issues and instead he emotionally and physically abused me and brought great emotional abuse to his stepdaughter.”
Apollo denied the claims of emotional and physical abuse.
He said, “I currently have no restraining order issued against me and [Sherien] and I have no history of physical violence. We have disagreements but we have an amicable relationship with each other.”
In his response, he claimed they split in the fall of 2024, not 2023 as Sherien listed in her petition.
Apollo also denied he subjected his ex to cruel treatment or stepped out on the marriage. He also made clear to note he “adamantly denies being an emotional abuser towards [Sherien] or bringing any type or form of abuse towards [Sherien] or” her daughter.
Per the divorce agreement, Apollo agreed to granting the divorce on the grounds of the marriage being broken, adultery and emotional abuse.
“All other language regarding grounds for divorce, in the petition for divorce, is struck,” the deal read.
Apollo and Sherien also agreed to not slander each other in the press.
“The parties agree to refrain from slandering and defaming each other on the internet, social networking sites.”
As In Touch first reported, back in March 2024, Apollo was arrested for simple assault following an incident with Sherien at home. The two started arguing after accusing the other of being unfaithful. Both denied the claims.
The police showed up at the home and talked to both parties. Apollo admitted he tried to get Sherien’s phone out of her hand. The police transported Apollo to the jail, where he was processed. Apollo was officially charged with one misdemeanor count of simple battery/family violence. At the time, Sherien told In Touch, “It was a huge blow out between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then. We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.”
Apollo was released after paying a $3,000 bond. A plea hearing is scheduled for April.
Phaedra, 51, and Apollo were married from 2009 to 2014.
The exes share two kids: Ayden and Dylan.
