The thunder rumbling as the ladies arrive at the season 16 Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion sets an ominous tone. Brit is not in her dressing room — in fact, she is nowhere to be found. So much for confronting her about various issues over the course of the season… There is still a chance for Drew and Porsha to work things out despite the drama that engulfed them in regards to Dennis, but not all problems get resolved during part one of this reunion…
The ladies keep Andy waiting, making their grand entrances late to the set. They are clad in yellow, and even Andy has joined in with his yellow tie. Porsha is fresh off a breast procedure, Phaedra remains calm and cool like a seasoned vet would, and Shamea is amped to be on stage, and not just as a friend of. Angela shows off her bejeweled fan, Kelli comes bearing a crystal, and Drew is ready for it all.
Andy explains that Brit has decided not to join the group for the reunion. Kelli claims that Brit caused “mass destruction” within the friend group, yet she still continues to act like the victim. Porsha spoke to Brit the night before, and oddly enough, she did not mention this no-show move. The untruths never stop with Brit.
Drew is bummed because she wanted to figure out why Brit would file a lawsuit against her. Drew claims that there was a blog talking about things that were on the poster Kenya showed during *the* incident, and Brit was not happy about it. This lawsuit seems to be news to everyone!
It doesn’t take long for Cynthia to come out and fill up Brit’s empty seat on the couch. All season long, Cynthia brought the peace and really enjoyed her role as a friend of. She was a great sounding board because she went through many of the things the ladies are currently navigating. Cynthia and her boyfriend, Le Prince, are doing very well, despite the age gap… and Phaedra understands the beauty of a younger man, as she is also dating one!
Porsha’s season was a bit different from what she expected with filing for divorce, getting caught up in the drama, and the passing of her cousin, Londie. Porsha explains how her house was the only thing she was able to get in the divorce, and she is grateful that there was a prenup. Porsha admits that Simon has been detained by ICE due to an immigration issue, which means he is in a jail somewhere. Porsha makes it clear that she did not call ICE on him. After all, this hiccup is not helping her finalize the divorce, something she desperately wants.
We are all left wondering how Porsha did not see the many red flags Simon was waving. Kelli claims her purpose in asking Porsha if she took another woman’s husband was to be “helpful.” Ahem, messy. Porsha reminds Kelli that they had a conversation about leaving their husbands and bonded over divorce. Kelli doesn’t like that Porsha is trying to compare the divorces, considering Kelli was “married for 11 years,” and Porsha “was married for 11 months.”
Porsha made a bad move when she said she should sleep with Charles Oakley, especially since people already think she stole a cast member’s husband. In regards to how Porsha and Simon met originally, there is some confusion. Shamea denies that she introduced Porsha to Simon, despite what Angela is saying that Shamea said in Nashville… but it doesn’t help that Porsha remains mute when asked about the details of the initial meeting.
Simon has already stated that Porsha slid in his DMs, which would mean Shamea didn’t introduce them. So is Porsha being mute to try to implicate Shamea for something she didn’t do? The plot thickens.
When it comes to Dennis, Porsha is happy that they are back to happily co-parenting. Drew gets called out for calling Porsha’s comeback a “flop,” and she explains that it felt as though, because Porsha had no storyline, she came on to attack Drew. Drew claims that “where the cameras catch me, they catch me,” and she continues to deny any type of relationship with Dennis, other than business. In fact, according to Drew, Porsha knew that she was working with Dennis.
