Rangers will be underdogs if they make the Stanley Cup Final-quang

The Rangers won't be getting any love next series either. The Rangers won't be getting any love from oddsmakers in the Stanley Cup Final.

Should the Rangers get past the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final, they will again be underdogs to win it all.

Hypothetical odds released by FanDuel Sportsbook say the Rangers would have plus-odds against both the Stars (-140 vs. +116) and the Oilers (-130 vs. +108).

The Western Conference Final is tied at 2-all after Edmonton’s 5-2 win on Wednesday night.

If those odds hold and the Rangers take care of business with two home games remaining in this now best-of-three, it would be the third consecutive series in which they are listed as underdogs despite having home-ice advantage.

The Rangers would host a potential Game 7 at MSG against both Western Conference squads after winning the President’s Trophy.

The Blueshirts split their season series with both teams, although three of those games happened in 2023.

They downed the Oilers in Edmonton in October and lost at home in December, while losing in Dallas in November but winning at Madison Square Garden in February.

Igor Shesterkin has carried the Rangers all season. Igor Shesterkin has carried the Rangers all season.

Igor Shesterkin has largely carried the Rangers to this point, so much so that TNT analyst and retired defenseman P.K. Subban said during the second-period intermission of Game 4 that the 2-1 Panthers lead should’ve been 4-1, but the goaltending was keeping the game tight.

With both conference finals in 2-2 ties, the Rangers have the longest odds to win the 2024 Stanley Cup.

Dallas is +230 alongside the Panthers, while the Oilers come in at +290, and the Rangers round out the group with +370 odds.

The top-seeded Stars are -134 favorites for Game 5.

The Rangers are increasingly large underdogs in Game 5 at the Garden, getting as high as +105 on Caesars Sportsbook to the Florida Panthers.

Florida is favored to win the series despite the lack of home-ice advantage.

The Blueshirts seem increasingly vulnerable without their big three stars in Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad producing more.
