Are the New York Rangers really serious about acquiring J.T. Miller from the Vancouver Canucks?
While Rangers general manager Chris Drury reportedly has an interest in Miller, there would be a lot of obstacles to overcome in a potential trade.
“I do think the Rangers are interested, but I don’t know how easy that match is going to be,” Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast. “If Vancouver wanted to do Zibanejad and again Zibanejad has a no-move clause too, so he’d have to want to do it, I think that could be done already. I’m not banking on that.
“The guy I could see Vancouver really liking is Schneider, but I’m not convinced at all the Ranger would want to do that, as a matter of fact, I’m convinced they wouldn’t just because I think they want to keep Schneider.”
A reported feud between Miller and Elias Pettersson has resulted in all of these trade rumors and a lot of unnecessary outside noise for the Canucks.
While the Canucks may not be willing to just throw away Miller, trade conversations have reportedly started to take place.
"What I know is, and this is based on intel and sourcing from around the league, that yeah, there's been a lot more chatter, certainly around J.T. Miller," TSN’s Darren Dreger said.
The NHL Trade Deadline is a little over two months away as these rumors should only continue to intensify.
