Rangers Plan To Ease Igor Shesterkin Back As He Deals With Injury-quang

Igor Shesterkin returned to practice for the Rangers on Wednesday.

Prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off break, Igor Shesterkin sustained an upper-body injury that kept him out for the New York Rangers game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Shesterkin was ultimately ruled out for 1-2 weeks.

While the 29-year-old goalie missed practice on Tuesday as he skated on his own, he returned to practice for a limited amount of time on Wednesday before exiting early.

Peter Laviolette confirmed that easing Shesterkin back is the team’s course of action through his recovery process.

“That was part of the plan,” Laviolette said about Shesterkin leaving practice early on Wednesday. “That was good. Good to have him out there.”

It’s still unclear if Shesterkin will return on Saturday night when the Rangers take on the Buffalo Sabres.
