With news of Filip Chytil being out of the lineup, the Rangers had to shift priorities and find a player who could embody the same kind of play style.
That didn't have to look far and that was with Jonny Brodzinski who split his time between the Rangers and the Wolfpack last season.
The team utilized him for 56 games in the NHL lineup and Brodzinski was more than capable of providing meaningful scoring depth.
In 57 games with the Rangers he score 19 points( 6 G, 13 A) which is good for a bottom-six, forechecking forward.
Now, with Chytil absent he has taken the brass-ring and ran with the opportunity.
He's played 7 games this season for the Blueshirts, scoring 2 points( 1 G, 1 A) and last night Brodzinski took 14 shifts, playing only 8:47 TOI.
He described how it feels to slot on the third line, in place of Chytil.
He sounded confident about his abilities to play in the Rangers lineup after waiting for another opportunity.
Peter Laviolette sounds confident in the center's abilities as well:
The Rangers will be taking on the Seattle Kraken tonight, in the Climate Pledge Arena.
With hope Brodzinski won't miss a beat, and keep the 3rd line rolling strong.
