The New York Rangers have selected defenseman EJ Emery with the 30th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
The 18-year-old played 61 games for the U.S. National Development Program last season where he recorded 16 assists. He also spent some time in the USHL.

Emery stands at 6’3’’ and weighs in at around 185 pounds while he uses his fast skating abilities to make himself an effective defender.
“There’s value in self awareness and this player knows that his defensive play, athleticism, and simple puck moving abilities are keys to making him a projected late first round pick,” Sportsnet’s Sam Cosentino wrote.
For next season, Emery is committed to play at the University of North Dakota.
