Raiders Taking Closer Look at Former USC WR - suong

The Las Vegas Raiders didn't add any former USC players in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they've been interested in their undrafted free agents. Pete Carroll is one of the greatest coaches in USC history, and he still has strong ties to the program.

The Raiders already signed former Trojan cornerbacks "Greedy Vance" and John Humphrey. Now they're going to give a wide receiver a chance.

USC Football announced on X that wide receiver Kyle Ford has accepted an invite to the Raiders' rookie minicamp. While it's not the same as a contract, it will give Ford the chance to show that he deserves a roster spot.

One thing that could help him is his ties to offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Ford spent the 2023 season at UCLA when Kelly was still the head coach.

Though it was just one season, the two should have some sort of relationship. Ford started his college career back in 2019 at USC. He missed the entire 2020 season with a knee injury, but was able to get back on the field the following season.

In five seasons worth of play, Ford combined for 88 catches, 1,190 yards and nine touchdowns. He's going to have his work cut out for him if he hopes to make the Raiders' roster.

The team was thin at the position before the draft, but they drafted two wide receivers and a quarterback who they will convert to a wide receiver. Ford's best chance might be to make the practice squad at the start of the season.
