Raiders Rumored to Have Already Made ‘Massive’ Offer to Coaching Candidate - suong

There's a lot of smoke surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. The team has already conducted a virtual interview with the coach and according to a Wednesday X post from the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Vincent Bonsignore, there's "momentum building" that the two sides will come to a deal.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk took it even further. He revealed that he's heard a rumor circulating that the Raiders have already made Johnson an unofficial contract offer.

"Most recently, we’ve caught wind of a rumor that the Raiders have made a 'massive' contract offer to Johnson," Florio wrote. "While it’s premature for offers to officially be made, given that they’ve yet to conduct a face-to-face interview with Johnson, the talk is out there that a big number is unofficially out there."

Florio went so far as to say that it could be down to the Raiders or returning to the Lions for Johnson. That said, the insider did note that there's a chance that the contract offer rumor might not be 100% credible.

Regardless, there are many rumors that are linking Johnson to the Raiders and this could be thanks to minority owner Tom Brady. Florio mentioned that there are also rumblings that Brady and Johnson have been speaking on the phone quite a bit. Nothing is official until ink is dry on a contract but it's looking like there's a real shot that Johnson will be the man in Las Vegas going forward.
