Few teams in the NFL have a need at quarterback as much as the Las Vegas Raiders do. Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew formed arguably the weakest quarterback room in the league this season.
There's been much speculation that the Raiders will address the position in the 2025 NFL Draft. Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward are considered the only two quarterbacks who could be worth taking with the No. 6 pick which means the team has limited options.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold is going to be the most intriguing name to watch in free agency. There's a good chance he stays in Minnesota but the Raiders could be looking to poach him.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Las Vegas is going to consider the Pro Bowl quarterback.
"The one team I would watch with Sam Darnold moving forward would be the Las Vegas Raiders," Schefter said on ESPN on Sunday. "I think at some point in time, they're likely to have some interest in trying to bring Sam Darnold to Las Vegas."
Coming off a breakout season where he threw for 35 touchdowns and led the Vikings to a 14-win season, Darnold is going to be looking at a major payday. He was very good in 2024 but it was the first time he looked like an NFL-level starting quarterback. It would be a risk for a team like the Raiders to pay him big money in free agency.
