The Las Vegas Raiders are looking for their next head coach after firing Antonio Pierce right after the end of the regular season. After being rumored to land former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, he signed with the New England Patriots as soon as the job became available. However, the Raiders are now favored to bring in one of the more popular candidates.
Las Vegas seems to be emerging as the favorite to sign Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their next head coach. While Johnson is still with the Lions during their playoff run, he has been one of the more popular possible candidates for a head coaching role in 2025.
A reporter at Review Journal covering the Raiders suggested that a lot of things have been pointing to Johnson favoring Las Vegas.
"A lot of things lining up and pointing to Ben Johnson to the Raiders. Nothing surprises me in this league, though. Some really good coaches have a chance to change things when they interview. But..." said reporter Vincent Bonsignore.
The team has scheduled or conducted interviews with Pete Carroll, Aaron Glenn, Robert Saleh, and Steve Spagnuolo to go along with Johnson. However, with other coaches like Cowboys' Mike McCarthy showing up on the open market, there can still be some shifts that occur.
