Raiders Get Encouraging Shedeur Sanders Update From Insider - suong

For much of the NFL regular season, it looked like the Las Vegas Raiders were going to end up with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He was openly flirting with the franchise while they held the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, the Raiders won two of their last three games, which dropped them to No. 6 in the draft order. With multiple quarterback-needy teams drafting before Las Vegas, it was looking highly unlikely they'd have a chance to add Sanders.

Luckily for the Raiders, there's some momentum building that the quarterback could potentially be available to them at No. 6 or perhaps a team would be willing to trade down with them.

Raiders beat writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal Vincent Bonsignore put together a mock draft and he believes that Sanders will indeed drop to the Raiders at No. 6.

"This scenario seemed unlikely one month ago," Bonsignore wrote. "But with Miami’s Cam Ward now being viewed as the top quarterback prospect and teams at the top of the draft favoring the perceived certainty of more instant-impact prospects, Sanders falls right into the Raiders’ lap at No. 6. They sit tight and get their franchise quarterback without having to mortgage their future."

This would be the ideal situation for the Raiders. The cost to move up in the draft will be great, even just a few spots. It remains to be seen if Sanders can be a franchise quarterback but he's worked closely with Tom Brady in the past so Las Vegas should have a strong evaluation of him.
