The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the most obvious candidates to select a quarterback with their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Over recent months, there have been many rumors about there being mutual interest between the Raiders and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Owner Mark Davis speaking with the quarterback at a Las Vegas Aces game certainly helped fuel the rumors and so have some of the comments made by the Sanders family. However, the one thing that was giving these rumors the most life was Sanders' social media activity.
Prior to Week 12, Sanders had posted "Thank you GOD" on X after every Raiders loss.
However, it may have simply been a coincidence. Sanders posted the same message again on X on Sunday but did it during the first quarter of the Raiders game against the Denver Broncos.
Raiders fans who are hopeful that the team will draft Sanders were very disappointed that the "myth is debunked," as The Athletic's Tashan Reed posted.
While many Raiders fans were concerned that this meant that Sanders wasn't eyeing Las Vegas, some fans pointed out that he posted it shortly after the Tennessee Titans
won, which improved the Raiders' position in the draft.
"Waaaitttt the raiders didn’t lose yet," one commenter wrote, which echoed many of the comments under Sanders' post.
It's difficult to know whether or not this is a coincidence. Sanders' social media activity has been something Raiders fans have been eyeing so it's possible that he knows fans are watching him and he posted the message to keep everybody on their toes.
