Raiders appear to be zeroing in on member of the Chargers' front office imageThe Las Vegas Raiders are beginning to narrow their search for a new general manager and Los Angeles Chargers assistant general manager Chad Alexander looks to be one of the top candidates.

Alexander was one of the first hires made by Joe Hortiz when he came in as the Chargers' general manager last offseason. The Raiders have already interviewed Alexander and plan to conduct a second interview with him on Monday.

If hired, it would be the second year in a row in which the Raiders hired a general manager out of the Chargers' front office. Last offseason, the Raiders gave their general manager job to Tom Telesco. Fired by the Chargers after 11 seasons there, Telesco lasted just one season in Vegas as he was fired this season after the team also fired head coach Antonio Pierce.

Alexander played at Wake Forest in college. He joined the Baltimore Ravens' front office in 1999, working as a scout. He then moved on to the New York Jets where he worked closely with general manager Joe Douglas.

Hortiz and Alexander worked together in Baltimore and that led to Hortiz bringing Alexander over to L.A. as part of his staff.
