RADIO 1 star Greg James has branded Dean McCullough 'a snake' after he snubbed their colleague Melvin Odoom for Coleen Rooney.
The first episode of I'm A Celebrity saw Dean, Tulisa, Danny Jones, Jane Moore and Oti Mabuse jump out of a helicopter - and then pick one of the other famous faces to team up with them.
Tulisa teamed up with Alan Halsall, Jane picked GK Barry and Danny went with Barry McGuigan.
When Dean had to pick between Melvin and Coleen - he apologised to his fellow BBC radio star and went with the wag instead.
Dean said: "Melvin I'm so, so sorry, but... Wagatha Christie, you're coming with me!"
Greg was very confused over his choice, asking on his Instagram story: "Urrrm Dean didn't pick Melvin?!"
He then shared a picture of boxer Barry with a snake and wrote: "They should send Dean in as one of the snakes after that behaviour."
Greg wasn't the only one in shock.
A viewer wrote on X: "did dean really not pick melvin ???"
Another chimed in: "Wait. Dean didn’t pick Melvin?? The teams at Radio 1 must be FUMING."
"Melvin when Dean didn’t pick him," a third tweeted with a pic of Big Brother star Lily looking upset.
Dean has presented the Radio 1 afternoon show since 2022.
The star filled in for Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1 in December 2020, before being offered the chance to present the early breakfast show on Fridays for four weeks.
Eventually, he replaced Jordan North in hosting the station's 10:30 to 13:00 slot.
Meanwhile Melvin, Rickie Haywood-Williams and Charlie Hedges moved to Radio 1 in 2019 after presenting Kiss Breakfast.
They started off presenting the late show between 9 to 11 pm Monday to Thursday, but since 2021, they are on between 10:30 – 12:45.
Dean will be taking part in tonight's trial.
The presenter received the highest public votes to take on the Sinister Sarcophagus challenge in a bid to win stars for camp.
And he will be left screaming his head off as he is covered in creepy crawlies in tonight's episode.
