Rachel “Raquel” Leviss is under fire for comments made on Instagram about Jax Taylor seeking mental health treatment.
After a rep for The Valley cast member, 45, confirmed he had sought out in-patient care amid his ongoing separation from wife Brittany Cartwright, 35, the 29-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum weighed in on Jax’s decision while complaining about the lack of support and “mockery” she received when she entered into a months-long mental health program at The Meadows.
“To Jax … I am deeply saddened to hear of Jax’s mental health struggles and I wholeheartedly support his decision to seek treatment,” Raquel began in her July 31 statement, then looking back at her own experiences.
“I pray that his news is met with the open-mindedness that mine lacked, as I faced mockery and accusations of simply being in a spa,” she continued. “I hope he finds the healing that I did through my own journey. This situation highlights the urgent need for mental healthcare and accessible treatment for reality TV stars.”
“Wishing you a speedy recovery,” Raquel added in a caption.
After the sharing of the post, Raquel, who entered treatment in April 2023, weeks after her sordid affair with Tom Sandoval, 42, the then-boyfriend of her friend Ariana Madix, 39, was uncovered, faced backlash for making Jax’s decision about herself.
“Maybe some more treatment is needed if you felt the need to run to Instagram and make someone else’s situation about yourself,” one person wrote.
Another asked, “How did you already manage to make this about yourself?”
“And you made this about you,” wrote a third.
Another advised Raquel to delete the post and “blame it on Nyquil” as someone else told her to “pipe down,” adding that Jax’s entry into treatment was “not about [her].”
“I am never one to post a comment but this post quickly turned into making it about yourself,” a different IG user shared.
Earlier this week, five months after Brittany, the mother of Jax’s 3-year-old son, Cruz, confirmed the two of them were living separately as they reconsidered their marriage, Jax’s rep revealed he’d entered treatment, not saying where or for how long.
“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” the rep told TMZ on July 30. “He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
