You’d think producers of a reality TV show would learn after 12 years what the people want. And if you tuned into the majority of the randomly amazing season 12 of Love Island, you’d be conned into believing ITV cracked it. What a truly amazing season of television it has been, despite the fact there’s barely been any love in it at all. In fact, that distinct lack of love has made Love Island 2025 all the better – almost every episode has felt unmissable. Truly compelling TV with heroes and villains, underdogs, producer twists being outdone by the genuine unpredictability of human beings full of lust and sun. And yet, in the final waning weeks of this season the producers have attempted to squander it by doing the worst thing ever – returning Islanders to the Love Island 2025 villa that nobody wanted or asked for.
Love Island isn’t bringing back Islanders for the first time ever in 2025, they’ve had people returning we didn’t ask for lots of times. Each time, it’s never been good. In fact, it’s been annoying. We all remember where we were when Casa Amor loomed and Molly Marsh was on a plane. At least Molly Marsh being on a plane was somewhat exciting even though we all knew she’d be back.

Megan Forte Clarke returning made some sense because of course she has unfinished business with Conor. That’s fine, despite the fact the public vote kind of proved we wanted her gone. Still – you can see the scenes in the heads of production that might unfold when she’s back to cause chaos. There wasn’t much chaos to cause however, because by the time she got in Conor and Shakira had already ended.
Worse still, because Megan has been on the outside (she’s even been to PR events and trips) she comes back with knowledge of how her besties Helena and Meg are coming across to the outside world. AKA, no one is a fan of them. This results in a Megan that Twitter has dubbed “PR manager Megan” – because she now spends her time clocking their behaviour and trying to help them come across in a way that looks more palatable to the audience. Or to make herself look better. Either way, it’s inauthentic.
Ahh, Blu – and Islander known best for saying “I ain’t f*ckin leaving!” in the most cringe way imaginable, only then to well… leave. Blu has ZERO unfinished business with anyone in the villa. Not a single connection. He has provided nothing, even though he’s tried to come in on absolute smoke. Why you raising your voice at my Toni, may I ask? Horrendous. Will go down in history as one of the worst Islanders ever, poorly because of him returning and rejoining the Love Island 2025 Islanders.
Made even worse of course by the fact his legacy is now his aggy vibes with Toni and getting binned off by Angel and Yasmin within 10 minutes. Previously he’d have just been an early dumped forgotten lad, and now he’s actively a bad Islander. The shame.
All in all, it’s ruining the vibes of the final chapter of an otherwise stellar Love Island – and I pray the producers see that literally no one wanted this and it was all for absolutely nothing. Just give us another bombshell if you must! But please, never this. Never again.
